The posting

Discord has a highly engaged community of millions of daily active users who use the platform for many different reasons, but there’s one thing that nearly everyone does: play video games. Discord plays a uniquely important role in the future of gaming, and we are focused on making it easier and more fun for people to hang out before, during, and after playing games.

This is an IT Ops Engineer role, the modern generalist who keeps the whole employee technology surface running: devices, identity, network, SaaS, collaboration, and the endpoint security surface we share with Enterprise Security. You work the shared queue alongside the team. This is a growth role, a place to go broad across enterprise systems, build real depth, and grow toward owning a domain end to end.

What you will do

  • Work the shared IT support queue alongside the team, helping Discordians with their day-to-day technology needs. This is core to the role for everyone on the team.
  • Support the full employee technology surface hands-on: device and endpoint setup (Jamf, Intune), identity and access basics (Okta), SaaS access, and the endpoint security tooling we run with Enterprise Security.
  • Keep the conferencing and AV rooms reliable, and be hands on deck to support live events. You keep the rooms working and support the event, not architect an AV build from scratch.
  • Run onboarding and offboarding so a new Discordian is equipped on day one and deprovisioned on exit.
  • Take on well-scoped projects with growing autonomy, and start turning the repetitive manual work you see in the queue into automation.
  • Participate in on-call rotations.

What you should have

  • Hands-on exposure across several parts of that surface, the more of it you have touched, the better. Breadth matters more than depth in any one area at this level.
  • A genuine automation instinct, even if early: you reach for automation before a runbook, and you lean on AI to write the scripts and glue that make manual work disappear.
  • Strong troubleshooting instincts and a habit of understanding the system, not just clearing the symptom.
  • A collaborative, low-ego, secure-by-design posture, clear written communication, and eagerness to grow across domains.
  • 3+ years of experience providing IT Helpdesk support and exposure to managing backend IT systems (e.g. Okta, Jamf etc.) in high growth tech companies.

Bonus points

  • Exposure to SOC 2 or SOX access-review processes.
  • Background in high-growth consumer tech.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
