The posting

We are looking for a highly skilled Professional Learning Specialist to create and deliver engaging professional learning experiences that help K-12 educators, coaches, and administrators effectively implement Discovery Education's products, services, and instructional practices. Depending on customer needs, business priorities, and assignment, individuals in this role may primarily focus on professional learning content and instructional design, facilitation and implementation, or a blend of both. The Professional Learning Specialist serves as a trusted partner to educators and school leaders and collaborates frequently with Partner Success, Sales, Product, and Professional Learning colleagues to ensure a consistent and impactful partner experience. While the primary mix of responsibilities may vary, all individuals in this role contribute across content, facilitation, coaching, consultation, and implementation when customer or business demands require support.   In This Role You Will:  Professional Learning Facilitation and Implementation 

Deliver engaging professional learning experiences in virtual and in-person environments  Facilitate learning grounded in adult learning principles and support educators in translating learning into instructional practice  Adapt delivery, content, and implementation approaches based on participant, partner, and business needs 

Content and Instructional Design 

Design, create, and maintain professional learning experiences and supporting resources across multiple delivery formats  Use feedback, implementation insights, and data to improve existing content and inform new offerings  Ensure professional learning resources remain aligned to Discovery Education products, quality standards, and partner needs 

Coaching and Consultation 

Provide coaching and consultation that supports educators and school leaders in implementing effective instructional practices  Conduct needs-analysis conversations and recommend professional learning solutions aligned with partner goals  Monitor implementation progress and recommend adjustments that support sustained impact 

Partner and Cross-Functional Collaboration 

Collaborate with Partner Success, Sales, Product, and Professional Learning colleagues to support partner outcomes  Communicate partner needs, progress, risks, and opportunities to internal and external stakeholders  Build trusted relationships that promote a consistent and impactful partner experience 

Operational Excellence and Role Flexibility 

Coordinate professional learning engagements, scheduling, and implementation activities as assigned  Maintain accurate records of partner interactions, activities, and implementation progress  Flex across content development, facilitation, coaching, consultation, and implementation based on customer demand and business priorities

Facilitation Excellence – Ability to deliver engaging, learner-centered experiences in virtual and in-person environments and adjust approaches based on audience and partner needs  Instructional and Learning Design – Ability to create meaningful professional learning experiences and resources grounded in adult learning principles and effective instructional practices  Coaching and Consulting – Ability to support educators and school leaders through job-embedded coaching, needs analysis, consultation, observation, and feedback  Customer Focus and Relationship Building – Ability to build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders while delivering a consistent and responsive partner experience  Communication and Cross-Functional Collaboration – Ability to communicate clearly and work across teams to connect partner goals, content, delivery, and implementation support  Data-Informed Decision Making – Ability to use feedback, implementation insights, and qualitative and quantitative data to strengthen professional learning content, delivery, and recommendations  Organization, Adaptability, and Execution – Ability to manage competing priorities, navigate ambiguity, solve problems, and flex effectively as customer and business needs evolve 

Credentials and Experience: 

Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field required; Master's degree preferred  A minimum of 5 years of teaching or relevant K-12 education experience  A minimum of 2 years of experience designing and/or delivering professional learning for K-12 educators  Knowledge of adult learning theory, effective pedagogical practices, and evidence-based professional learning  Demonstrated success creating professional learning content and/or facilitating professional learning in virtual and in-person environments  Demonstrated success coaching educators or supporting instructional implementation through observation, feedback, consultation, or related models  Ability to travel based on assignment, customer demand, and seasonal business needs; overnight travel may be required  Legal right to work in the United States. 

This is a remote position based in Alabama that requires up to 80% travel throughout the state, with occasional support for additional territories as business needs require.   The hiring range for this position is between $68,600 - $76,200 annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. Additionally, this position is eligible for an Annual Bonus.
