This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company’s locations: Homewood Mountain & Lake Club, set on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe in Homewood, California.
Homewood is seeking a Snowsports Senior Lead to join the Snowsports Department.
Job Summary:
The Snowsports Senior Lead is responsible for leading daily operations, supporting instructors, and ensuring world-class guest experiences in all Snow Sports programs. This role focuses on guest service, lesson quality, instructor development, and operational efficiency while upholding Homewood’s culture of safety, fun, and excellence. The Senior Lead serves as an on-mountain leader, resource, and ambassador for our guests, our team, and our sport.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the daily operation of Adult and Private Lesson programs, including class line-ups, lesson assignments, and scheduling adjustments.
- Support and mentor all instructors, providing on-snow coaching, feedback, and professional development.
- Monitor lesson quality to ensure consistency with resort teaching standards and guest service expectations.
- Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring satisfaction and retention.
- Collaborate with the Snowsports Manager and Snowsport Supervisor on staffing needs, scheduling, and program improvements.
- Maintain clear communication between instructors, managers, and other resort departments.
- Uphold and model all safety policies, procedures, and industry best practices.
- Assist with resort events, training sessions, and special programs as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications:
- PSIA/AASI Level 1 Certification (or equivalent) preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a snowsports school preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage teams and motivate individuals toward shared goals.
- High level of skiing or snowboarding proficiency (advanced to expert).
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt quickly to changing conditions.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities in a dynamic, outdoor environment.
- Comfortable working in varied mountain conditions, including high-altitude and inclement weather environments.
- Familiarity with RTP preferred.
- Ability to supervise and deploy instructors across varied terrain and weather conditions.
- Must be at least 18 years old.

- Flexibility and ability to pivot to new projects and desire to work in fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
- Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.

The Company’s good faith estimate of the hourly rate it expects to pay for this role is $27-$30 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
