The posting

How You’ll Contribute: The Engineer in Charge (EIC) is responsible for the technical reliability, operational readiness, maintenance, and continuous improvement of a corporate broadcast and live production environment supporting executive communications, studio productions, corporate events, and hybrid broadcasts. This position requires a strong foundation in professional broadcast engineering, combined with the flexibility to provide hands-on production operations support. The EIC serves as the primary onsite technical resource for corporate production systems and a purpose-built live event theater, ensuring that all systems are properly maintained, configured, and prepared for successful event execution. The EIC maintains technical ownership of the live event theater, which supports approximately three major events annually, while providing ongoing engineering and operational support for daily corporate production activities. The ideal candidate brings professional broadcast engineering experience, strong troubleshooting capabilities, and a collaborative approach to supporting corporate production teams. Engineering reliability, technical ownership, and production system readiness remain the primary responsibilities of this position.

Working Environment

Full-time onsite position supporting a professional corporate broadcast, studio, and live-event environment. Regular collaboration with production personnel, technical teams, and client stakeholders. Support for executive events, live broadcasts, rehearsals, studio productions, virtual events, and scheduled maintenance. Flexibility to support occasional early morning, evening, or weekend productions based on approved operational requirements. Ability to work in studios, control rooms, equipment rooms, and other technical production environments.

What You’ll Do: Key Responsibilities 1. Broadcast & Corporate Production Engineering

Serve as the primary onsite technical resource for corporate broadcast, studio, and production infrastructure. Maintain, configure, troubleshoot, and support professional production systems, including cameras, video switchers, routers, audio consoles, intercom systems, recording equipment, and streaming platforms. Support SDI, IP-based video, audio-over-IP, and associated production networking technologies. Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues affecting production equipment, signal flow, and system performance. Perform preventive maintenance, system inspections, firmware updates, and equipment health checks. Coordinate technical escalations, manufacturer support, equipment repairs, and system recovery activities. Recommend technical improvements to enhance system reliability, performance, and operational efficiency.

2. Live Event Theater – Technical Ownership & Operations

Serve as the primary technical owner and Engineer in Charge for the onsite, purpose-built live event theater. Maintain the theater's broadcast, audio, video, control, communications, and production systems in a constant state of operational readiness. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, system testing, equipment inspections, and technical health checks throughout the year. Lead technical preparation, system configuration, testing, and troubleshooting for approximately three major theater events annually. Serve as the technical lead during theater rehearsals and live events, ensuring reliable system performance and rapid resolution of technical issues. Coordinate with production personnel, event stakeholders, vendors, and supporting technical resources to meet event requirements. Develop and maintain theater-specific SOPs, system documentation, technical checklists, and contingency procedures. Recommend equipment improvements, maintenance requirements, and technical enhancements to support long-term system reliability.

3. Corporate Production & Operational Support

Provide technical and operational support for executive communications, corporate events, studio productions, live broadcasts, and hybrid events. Operate and configure PTZ cameras, including presets, framing, positioning, and camera movements under production direction. Support Zoom and Microsoft Teams productions, including participant pinning, spotlighting, content sharing, and audio/video monitoring. Prepare, validate, and execute video playback, including media ingest, playlist management, quality control, and audio-level verification. Support production switching, routing, streaming, recording, and other technical production functions as required. Assist with production setup, rehearsals, live-event execution, and post-event technical activities. Troubleshoot production-related technical issues to minimize disruption and maintain event continuity.

4. Production Planning & Technical Readiness

Participate in production planning meetings, technical reviews, and event rehearsals. Perform preproduction system checks to validate equipment readiness, signal paths, communications, and production configurations. Coordinate with production personnel to identify technical requirements, potential risks, and workflow limitations. Develop and maintain contingency procedures and backup workflows for critical production systems. Ensure production environments are technically prepared for scheduled events and broadcasts. Communicate technical concerns and recommend appropriate solutions before production execution.

5. Documentation & Continuous Improvement

Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), technical documentation, system diagrams, and troubleshooting guides. Document system configurations, maintenance activities, technical incidents, and corrective actions. Evaluate production workflows and recommend improvements to efficiency, consistency, and reliability. Support equipment lifecycle planning, technology upgrades, and implementation of new production workflows. Maintain accurate technical records and contribute to ongoing operational improvements.

6. Technical Collaboration & Operational Governance

Collaborate with production personnel, engineers, technicians, and client stakeholders to support daily operations and event execution. Provide technical guidance, troubleshooting assistance, equipment familiarization, and knowledge sharing. Communicate system status, technical risks, and operational concerns to appropriate stakeholders. Coordinate technical troubleshooting, incident response, and escalation activities within the established client and service delivery management structure. Work collaboratively with designated production leadership to support event priorities and operational requirements. Follow established procedures for communication, staffing coordination, and escalation. Personnel management, staffing decisions, and reporting relationships remain the responsibility of designated management.

Engineering Prioritization: The EIC's primary responsibility is maintaining the reliability and availability of corporate broadcast and production systems. When critical technical issues arise, engineering response takes priority over routine operational assignments, with production coverage coordinated through the appropriate production leadership.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
