About Us

DMG New Media is the Daily Mail’s social publisher, bringing the future of news and entertainment to Gen Z and young millennials.

Our mission is simple:

To inform, entertain and inspire the next generation through brilliant social storytelling.

Our creatives and talent are deeply rooted in the communities we reach.

About the role

DMG New Media is looking for a Junior Social Videographer to help create engaging, high-quality video content for TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts.

Working as part of our London-based production team, you'll support a wide range of shoots, from presenter-led videos and studio explainers to interviews, on-location filming and social-first formats.

You'll work closely with producers, editors and senior videographers, gaining hands-on experience across the full production process, from planning and setting up shoots through to filming and preparing footage for post-production.

You'll work across the Daily Mail portfolio of brands, including Eliza, YOU and our gaming brand, Respawn, gaining experience across a variety of subjects, filming styles and creative formats.

With support from the wider video team, you'll develop your technical camera skills, creative eye and confidence on shoots, helping us produce consistently strong, engaging content for our social audiences.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support and carry out studio and location shoots, including presenter-led videos, interviews, explainers and other social-first formats.
  • Capture high-quality footage with strong composition, lighting and audio.
  • Assist with setting up cameras, lighting and sound equipment, ensuring shoots run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Work closely with producers and senior videographers to understand briefs, shot lists and creative requirements.
  • Film engaging B-roll, cutaways and additional footage to support strong visual storytelling.
  • Help prepare, maintain and organise camera equipment, ensuring kit is ready for upcoming shoots.
  • Support the wider production team across the Daily Mail portfolio of brands, including Eliza, YOU and Respawn.
  • Organise, label and safely transfer footage and audio files ready for the editing team.
  • Follow established filming styles and brand guidelines while bringing fresh ideas and creativity to shoots.
  • Work efficiently across multiple projects, adapting to changing priorities and tight deadlines.

Person Specification

  • Some hands-on experience filming video content, either professionally, freelance, through education or personal projects.
  • A good understanding of TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts, and what makes engaging, social-first video content.
  • Basic working knowledge of professional or mirrorless cameras, ideally Sony, and an understanding of camera settings such as exposure, frame rates and white balance.
  • An understanding of lighting, composition and audio recording techniques.
  • A creative eye for framing, storytelling and capturing engaging footage.
  • Comfortable working in both studio and on-location environments, with a willingness to get stuck in and support different types of shoots.
  • Organised, reliable and confident handling filming equipment and media files.
  • Good communication skills and a positive, collaborative approach to working with producers, presenters and editors.
  • Comfortable taking feedback and keen to develop technical and creative skills in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, basic video editing, colour grading or photography is a bonus, but not essential.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
