Dogpatch Games Facilitator

Dogpatch Games

Part-time / Event-based

Dogpatch Games is always looking to add great facilitators to our team for a range of tabletop gaming programs across both adult and kids events.

This is a general application for several different kinds of facilitator work. Candidates may be considered for one area or for a mix of opportunities. The strongest candidates are often those who can support multiple kinds of programming, especially across both board games and Dungeons & Dragons, and across both kids and adult audiences.

We are currently hiring across three main areas:

1. Adult Board Game Programming

  • Social board game events
  • Corporate events
  • Regular community events
  • Teaching and facilitating specific board games for adult groups

2. Kids Board Game Programming

  • Afterschool kids clubs
  • Summer camps
  • Private kids events
  • Board game programming for children and teens
  • In some cases, D&D programming as part of broader kids programs

3. Dungeons & Dragons Dungeon Masters

  • Adult one-shots
  • Kids one-shots
  • Kids campaigns in afterschool clubs
  • Kids campaigns in summer camps
  • Occasional adult campaigns

At this time, we are primarily interested in Dungeon Masters who are excited to run games for both kids and adults. We have less need right now for adult-only DMs.

Role Overview

Dogpatch Games facilitators help create welcoming, organized, and engaging experiences for players. Depending on the program, this may mean teaching games, managing tables and group flow, running D&D sessions, supporting kids programming, helping guests feel comfortable, and representing Dogpatch Games with warmth, professionalism, and good judgment.

Candidates can be a fit for one type of programming or several. The more relevant experience, flexibility, and programming buckets a candidate can cover, the stronger they are likely to be.

Availability Requirements

For D&D Dungeon Masters:

  • Availability for at least one weekly afterschool kids club, typically 4:00pm–6:00pm on a weekday
  • Availability for at least two one-shots per month

For Board Game Facilitators:

  • Availability for 3 or more events per month
  • Availability should include afternoons and/or evenings
  • Some events are regularly scheduled store-run events, while others are privately requested events

Compensation

  • Adult programs: $25–$30 per event hour
  • Kids programs: $30–$40 per event hour Compensation depends on experience, program type, and responsibilities.

What Facilitators Do

  • Lead engaging, organized tabletop experiences for players
  • Teach board games clearly and confidently
  • Run Dungeons & Dragons sessions for kids and/or adults
  • Manage pacing, table flow, and group dynamics
  • Create welcoming spaces for new and returning participants
  • Use good judgment in responding to participant needs and day-of issues
  • Support Dogpatch Games events with professionalism, warmth, and reliability

Ideal Qualifications

  • Experience facilitating board games, D&D, or other tabletop programming
  • Experience working with adults, kids, or ideally both
  • Strong group facilitation and communication skills
  • Reliability and professionalism
  • Good judgment, adaptability, and comfort solving problems in real time
  • A genuine enthusiasm for tabletop games and sharing them with others

Especially Strong Candidates May Also Have

  • Experience teaching modern board games to new players
  • Experience running D&D for both children and adults
  • Experience in afterschool programs, camps, classrooms, or youth programming
  • Experience facilitating social or corporate events
  • Ability to support multiple types of Dogpatch Games programming

What Success Looks Like

  • Participants feel welcomed, included, and engaged
  • Events run smoothly and on time
  • Rules and activities are explained clearly
  • Tables are well managed and group dynamics are handled thoughtfully
  • Guests leave with a strong experience of Dogpatch Games community and programming

Application Notes

This application is intended for multiple facilitator roles. Applicants should be prepared to indicate:

  • Whether they are interested in facilitating board games, D&D, or both
  • Whether they are interested in kids programming, adult programming, or both
  • Their relevant experience in each area
  • Their typical availability

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
