Role Overview

The Commercial Leasing Associate will join Igloo as an early-career member of a highly entrepreneurial team working across commercial leasing, real estate development, and transaction execution. This role is ideal for a sharp, ambitious self-starter who wants to build a career in commercial real estate and is eager to take on meaningful responsibility from day one.

Projects include adaptive re-use and ground-up mixed-use developments with active retail and commercial spaces. The Associate will gain direct experience with market research, prospecting, deal documentation, and project coordination while gaining valuable experience throughout the real estate development process.

This is a hands-on opportunity to learn by doing. Working closely with senior team members, the Associate will help move opportunities forward, build relationships, and develop the judgment and skills needed to grow into a transaction leadership role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transaction Management & Execution Support active leasing assignments from tenant sourcing and initial outreach through touring spaces, preparing LOIs, involvement with lease negotiations, etc. Prepare prospect lists, draft LOIs and proposal materials, maintain deal trackers, and coordinate transaction follow-ups. Organize next steps, communicate with brokers, owners, and prospective tenants, and proactively keep multiple deals moving.
  • Development & Project Integration Assist with market research, site evaluation, tenant mix studies, and underwriting for new and existing projects. Work with leasing, development, design, and construction teams to understand how commercial spaces are planned and delivered. Help coordinate project materials, tenant requirements, and information requested by architects and internal teams.
  • Leasing Strategy & Marketing Research neighborhoods, retailers, operators, and market trends to identify relevant prospects and leasing opportunities. Conduct thoughtful outreach and help build lasting relationships with emerging brands, operators, and brokerage contacts. Help develop marketing presentations and materials for landlord and tenant representation assignments.
  • Financial & Analytical Support Build and update Excel-based analyses of market rents, leasing economics, tenant proposals, and project assumptions. Support basic comparative site analysis, and evaluation of tenant and transaction economics.
  • Post-Execution & Stabilization Track lease execution milestones and help coordinate handoffs among tenants, owners, and project teams. Follow through on outstanding items during design, build-out, and pre-opening phases as needed.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We are seeking a bright, hardworking, personable, creative person with strong analytical ability, a high level of personal initiative, and a genuine desire to learn. The ideal candidate takes feedback well, moves quickly, follows through, and is excited to build a long-term career in commercial real estate.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Recent graduate or early-career candidate; internships or 0–2 years of experience in real estate, finance, research, or a related field are welcome.
  • Strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity, resourcefulness, and willingness to own assignments from start to finish.
  • Strong desire to network amongst property owners, business owners, and industry peers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; confidence reaching out to new people and building relationships.
  • Comfort with Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis; ability to turn research into clear recommendations.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail while balancing changing priorities.
  • Interest in leasing negotiations, real estate development, design, and how commercial projects come together.
  • Coachability, sound judgment, positive energy, and the drive to grow rapidly through hands-on experience.

Education & Technical Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, Economics, Architecture, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience considered.
  • Coursework, internships, or project work in financial modeling, real estate transactions, or development is a plus.
  • Experience with CoStar, CRM tools, SketchUp, or a real estate salesperson license is a plus, not a requirement.

What Makes This Role Unique

  • A genuine entry point into commercial real estate spanning brokerage, development, and transaction execution.
  • Direct mentorship and exposure to the full development lifecycle through Igloo’s partnership with The Domain Companies.
  • Meaningful ownership of work from the outset, with room to take on increasingly complex assignments.
  • Interaction with exciting tenants, operators, brands, and ownership teams on design-forward neighborhood projects.
  • A growth-oriented platform for someone who is motivated to learn quickly and build a long-term career.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive pay: $75,000 with potential annual bonuses.
  • Health and wellness benefits with 4 different plan offerings.
  • Company-paid Life Insurance and Short-Term Disability.
  • Paid Parental Leave Program (up to 8 weeks of 100% pay).
  • 401(k) matching program (up to 4%).
  • 10 days of paid vacation, 7 sick days, and 11 company holidays annually.
  • Fun extracurricular activities and perks.
  • 2 Volunteer days and an annual community day where we get to give back, together!
  • Professional development opportunities.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
