The Risk & Insurance team at DoorDash is responsible for all things corporate insurance at the company. We are a rapidly growing and exciting function that helps DoorDash manage risk and safety with a close lens on the company's bottom line. We are looking for forward thinkers who are excited to help build out this team and match our ambitious cross-functional partners at DoorDash.
About the Role
We are looking for a passionate Senior Insurance Data Lead who will be a member of DoorDash’s Corporate Risk & Insurance function within the Finance & Strategy team. As one of the newest members of Corporate Risk & Insurance, you’ll have the rare opportunity to improve our data capabilities and seek data-driven insights to inform our insurance risk management decisions. This includes advising operational strategy and enabling optimal structuring of insurance programs. In this role, you will report to the Manager, Insurance Data. This role may work remote while based in the United States, preferably based at a listed DoorDash hub office.

- Lead the development and maintenance of key insurance metrics that drive business decisions on DoorDash’s insurance strategies
- Own and develop insurance data infrastructure to support the increasing demand for insurance analytics at DoorDash by creating data pipelines and data models with high data quality.
- Design and report insurance and claim-related analytics to help optimize insurance operation strategies.
- Collaborate closely with senior team members to define and report monthly performance metrics and make suggestions on risk mitigation strategies
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless task execution within established timelines
We’re excited about you because you have…
- 4-7 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, insurance analytics, financial analytics, or a related analytical role.
- Strong SQL skills and Python experience for data extraction, transformation, validation, and automation.
- Experience building reports, dashboards, reconciliations, familiarity with using cursor is a plus.
- Experience working with large, multi-source datasets and translating business requirements into clear data logic and reporting.
- Familiarity with ETL processes, data models, data-quality checks, and documentation practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in analytics, data science, finance, economics, business, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of Property & Casualty insurance is preferred.
- Actuarial, insurance operations, carrier reporting, claims, billing, or exposure-data experience is a plus.
- Experience in a gig, delivery, mobility, marketplace, or sharing-economy business is a plus.

Compensation
The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the pay range listed below and is determined based on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Base salary is localized according to an employee’s work location. Ranges are market-dependent and may be modified in the future.
In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes opportunities for equity grants. Talk to your recruiter for more information.

- For salaried roles: flexible paid time off/vacation, plus 80 hours of paid sick time per year.
- For hourly roles: vacation accrued at about 1 hour for every 25.97 hours worked (e.g. about 6.7 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 3.4 hours/month if working 20 hours/week), and paid sick time accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked (e.g. about 5.8 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 2.9 hours/month if working 20 hours/week).
The national base pay range for this position within the United States, including Illinois and Colorado.
$118,300—$174,000 USD
