Compensation: $20.75 - $32.00 per hour

Hiring for all shifts! 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.

The painter uses airless and or air powered paint system, maintains worksite and equipment, and fills in anywhere in the painting or assembly process as needed. Painting of structural steel and other custom fabricated metal components. Experience in structural steel painting/ sheet metal painting is a large plus. Looking for dedicated, skilled and reliable people to help grow the painting capabilities of Doral!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

1. Apply surface coatings to completed parts using handheld spray gun following established paint shop practices.

2. Visually check parts before painting to ensure part prep and after painting for paint runs and light or missed spots.

3. Ensure the proper handling and disposal of waste materials as directed by safety officer.

4. Clean and maintain paint gun and related parts.

5. Learn all aspects of the painting process and be able fill in for any position as directed by shop foreman.

6. Operate paint equipment and machines, handle hazardous material, and manage workflow of parts.

7. Correct work as directed; repair nicks, scratches or other small imperfections in the finish.

8. Clean up work areas, equipment, supplies and materials; apply standard safety practices and procedures.

9. Prepare and submit requests and supportive documentation

10. Perform a variety of routine and preventive maintenance.

Education and/or Experience

Requires education generally equivalent to a high school diploma and two to three years related experience.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Other Qualifications

Requires the ability to operate various equipment to include welding equipment, forklift, hoists, riggings, and various hand and power tools. Requires a broad knowledge of mechanics, metal properties, welding techniques and maintenance procedures and practices.

Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Ability to lift, push or pull 50 lbs., 75 lbs. on occasion. This position is very active and while performing the duties of this position, employee is regularly required to stand for extended periods of time, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, twist, and crouch. Ability to use paint gun and use hands and fingers, grip; reach; balance; and talk and hear. Uses close vision for paint inspection. Demonstrates accountability for all safety procedures. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts.
