About the role

As a Sales Manager Freight Forwarding, you will play a key role in growing our Freight Forwarding business across Portugal by identifying new opportunities, building meaningful customer relationships, and delivering logistics solutions that create value. Working closely with colleagues in Sales, Operations, and Pricing, you will help expand our customer portfolio and contribute to sustainable business growth.

This is a field-based role with flexibility to work remotely or in a hybrid setup, depending on your preferences and business needs. Regular travel within Portugal is part of the role, providing opportunities to engage directly with customers and better understand their logistics challenges and goals. The main focus area will be the Porto region.

How you will contribute

  • Identify and engage potential customers through market research, networking, referrals, and proactive outreach activities.
  • Build, manage, and maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities to support long-term business growth.
  • Guide opportunities through the sales process, from first contact to agreement and successful onboarding.
  • Collaborate with Pricing, Operations, and other internal teams to develop tailored freight forwarding and logistics solutions.
  • Develop trusted customer relationships by understanding business needs and providing responsive support throughout the sales cycle.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer interactions, opportunities, and sales activities within the CRM system.
  • Support the transition of newly acquired customers to operational teams to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Monitor market developments, customer trends, and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, inclusive, and customer-focused team environment.

What you will bring

  • Experience in a commercial, customer-facing, business development, or sales-related environment, with an ability to build professional relationships and identify opportunities.
  • Strong communication skills in Portuguese and professional working proficiency in English.
  • A proactive and curious approach to developing new business and understanding customer challenges.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with different teams to create solutions that meet customer needs and business objectives.
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage priorities, maintain accurate records, and effectively use CRM tools.
