Die Deutsche Presse-Agentur (dpa) wurde 1949 gegründet und gehört zu den weltweit führenden unabhängigen Nachrichtenagenturen. dpa beliefert Medien, Unternehmen und Organisationen mit redaktionellen Angeboten. Dazu zählen Texte, Fotos, Videos, Grafiken, Hörfunkbeiträge und andere Formate. Als international tätige Agentur berichtet dpa in sieben Sprachen. Rund 1000 Journalistinnen und Journalisten arbeiten von rund 150 Standorten im In- und Ausland aus. Gesellschafter der dpa sind rund 170 deutsche Medienunternehmen. Die dpa-Redaktion arbeitet nach den im dpa-Statut festgelegten Grundsätzen: unabhängig von Weltanschauungen, Wirtschaftsunternehmen oder Regierungen.

Zum 1. Mai 2027 suchen wir einen Korrespondent (m/w/d) in Vollzeit in Washington. Die Stelle ist unbefristet.

Der Job + Die Verantwortung

  • Beobachten, Recherchieren, Einordnen, Gewichten und Verifizieren von Nachrichten und Gesprächswertthemen aus Washington und den USA insgesamt
  • Mit Ressorts, anderen Gewerken und Korrespondentinnen und Korrespondenten über Regions- und Zeitzonengrenzen hinweg eng vernetzt zusammenarbeiten
  • Expertise in thematische Netzwerke einbringen
  • Quellen und Netzwerke aufbauen und pflegen
  • Multimediale Planung von aktuellen sowie mittel- und langfristigen Themen und Terminen in Absprache mit anderen Teams wie Foto, Video, Audio, Grafik
  • Recherchieren und Schreiben von Texten gemäß der Integrierten Redaktion, Aufnahme Fotos/Videos/Audios
  • Gegenseitige Vertretung und effiziente Aufgabenteilung im Team der US-Korrespondenten
  • Teilweise Steuerung des Netzes freier Mitarbeiter in enger Abstimmung mit der Regionalbüroleitung sowie mit der Zentrale
  • Redigieren der Texte von Freien

  • Journalistische Ausbildung und Erfahrung, gute handwerkliche Fähigkeiten
  • Kreativität und ein gutes Gespür für Nachrichten und Gesprächswertthemen
  • überdurchschnittliche Kommunikationsstärke und hohe Bereitschaft zur Vernetzung
  • sicheres Auftreten und repräsentative Fähigkeiten
  • Kenntnis internationaler Zusammenhänge in Bezug zu Deutschland
  • Sicherheit bei der inhaltlichen Schwerpunktsetzung
  • Multimediales Denken und Verständnis für die Anforderungen unserer Kunden aller Mediengattungen
  • Gute organisatorische Fähigkeiten und eigenständiges Arbeiten
  • Außerordentliche Teamfähigkeit und klare Kommunikation
