About our company
We are a locally owned, female and family-owned design/build remodeling company specializing in kitchen, bathroom, and interior renovations. Our Design Studio in the Pinnacle Hills and One Uptown area of Rogers gives clients a place to meet with our team, explore designs, and select products. We guide homeowners from initial design through procurement and completed construction with one coordinated remodeling team.
The opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead the construction side of our remodeling projects. You will coordinate multiple projects, lead our Lead Carpenters, and manage trade partners to deliver work that meets the approved design, scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards. You will work closely with Designers, Purchasing, Operations, and the General Manager while keeping homeowners informed and their homes protected.
Key responsibilities
- Plan projects before construction. Review drawings, scope, labor estimates, site conditions, and construction methods with the design team. Identify missing details, budget concerns, and scheduling risks before work begins.
- Confirm job readiness. Verify that required selections, approvals, materials, trade commitments, and permits are in place. Coordinate product staging and resolve shortages or damage before the scheduled start.
- Own the production schedule. Maintain an accurate master schedule, assign Lead Carpenters, coordinate trade partners and inspections, and update near-term work plans as conditions change.
- Lead project handoffs and preconstruction meetings. Review responsibilities, milestones, homeowner expectations, site access, protection, and communication procedures with the Designer, Lead Carpenter, and homeowner.
- Manage field execution. Check in with Lead Carpenters daily, visit jobsites regularly, and conduct weekly production meetings. Resolve obstacles promptly and escalate decisions that affect scope, budget, or completion dates.
- Protect project budgets. Monitor labor hours, material usage, trade costs, and remaining work against the approved budget. Investigate variances early and recommend corrective action to the General Manager.
- Control changes. Document unforeseen conditions and client requests, coordinate pricing and schedule impacts, and obtain required written approvals before authorizing work outside the contracted scope.
- Communicate with homeowners. Establish a consistent update routine, explain upcoming work and decisions, respond to concerns, and document commitments and changes in the project record.
- Maintain quality and safety. Inspect workmanship at key milestones, verify compliance with approved plans and applicable requirements, and enforce dust containment, floor protection, housekeeping, and safe work practices.
- Manage permits and inspections. Coordinate applications, required inspections, and correction items with the appropriate offices and qualified trade partners.
- Develop the production team. Coach and train Lead Carpenters, set clear expectations, review performance, approve accurate time records, and address accountability and staffing needs with the General Manager.
- Coordinate closeout and warranty service. Conduct inspections before the final walkthrough, manage punch lists, document completion, and investigate and coordinate resolution of warranty concerns.
- Maintain production resources and records. Oversee tool and vehicle inventories, general supplies, jobsite signage, and accurate schedules, daily updates, photos, and issue logs in the company’s project management system.
- Represent our company professionally. Demonstrate respect, integrity, clear communication, and care for clients, coworkers, trade partners, and occupied homes.
Required qualifications
- At least five years of relevant construction or remodeling experience, including residential remodeling, plus demonstrated experience leading field crews and coordinating trade partners.
- Strong working knowledge of kitchen and bathroom construction, carpentry, installation sequencing, and coordination of plumbing, electrical, tile, waterproofing, and other trades.
- Ability to read drawings and scopes, evaluate labor requirements, manage schedules and project costs, and recognize quality issues before they become costly rework.
- Strong leadership, organization, problem-solving, and customer communication skills; sound judgment and the ability to prioritize across multiple active projects.
- Comfort using project management software, digital schedules, email, job photos, and electronic documentation; willingness to learn company systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent; valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel between the Design Studio and jobsites throughout Northwest Arkansas.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience managing kitchen and bath remodeling in occupied homes, advanced carpentry skills, and technical or trade school training.
- Experience using JobTread or a comparable construction project management platform.
Work environment and schedule
This role combines Design Studio work with regular jobsite visits. Work includes walking active jobsites, using stairs, standing, bending, and occasional material or tool handling. Essential duties must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation. The regular schedule is Monday through Friday, generally eight-hour days, with occasional adjustments for project needs.
Compensation and benefits
Competitive salary based on experience; limited health insurance reimbursement; paid time off and holidays; and a SIMPLE IRA with a company match of up to 3%.
What success looks like
Projects begin ready for construction; schedules and budgets stay current; issues and changes are addressed early; homeowners receive consistent updates; and projects close with quality workmanship, timely punch-list completion, and accurate documentation.
