The posting

We are seeking a qualified Commercial Diver experienced in Surface Supplied Diving Equipment (SSDE) operations to support our underwater ship husbandry, inspection, cleaning and repair activities within Singapore waters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform commercial diving operations using Surface Supplied Diving Equipment (SSDE) under the direction of an appointed Diving Supervisor.
  • Conduct underwater vessel inspections, including visual examinations, photography and video recording.
  • Carry out underwater hull cleaning, propeller polishing, sea chest cleaning and marine growth removal.
  • Assist in underwater repair activities, including blanking, plugging, rope removal and other ship husbandry works.
  • Conduct pre-dive and post-dive inspections of diving equipment, including surface air supply systems, umbilicals, communication equipment and emergency breathing systems.
  • Perform duties as a working diver, standby diver or dive tender where appropriately qualified and assigned.
  • Participate in risk assessments, toolbox meetings, dive planning and emergency response exercises.
  • Follow approved safe work procedures and diving instructions issued by the Diving Supervisor.
  • Maintain diving equipment, underwater tools and associated operational supplies.
  • Assist in completing diving reports and relevant operational documentation.

Job Requirements

Possess a valid and recognised Surface Supplied Diving Equipment (SSDE) Diver certification or an equivalent commercial diving qualification acceptable to Singapore's Ministry of Manpower (MOM).

Have practical knowledge and experience in surface-supplied commercial diving operations.

Familiar with Singapore Standard SS 511:2018 – Code of Practice for Diving at Work, applicable Workplace Safety and Health requirements and commercial diving safety procedures.

Possess valid medical fitness certification for commercial diving duties in accordance with applicable requirements.

Knowledge of commercial diving equipment, surface-supplied breathing air systems, underwater tools and emergency diving procedures.

Experience in underwater ship husbandry, hull cleaning, propeller polishing or vessel inspections will be advantageous.

Able to work safely as part of a commercial diving team under the supervision of an appointed Diving Supervisor.

Able to communicate effectively and follow operational and safety instructions.

Willing to work at various Singapore marine locations and irregular working hours, including weekends and public holidays, depending on operational requirements.

Job allowance between $30-$50 per vessel
