The impact you will have in this role:

The Data Center Facilities Engineering Senior Associate is responsible for the operational reliability, risk management, and performance of mission-critical facility infrastructure supporting DTCC's data center operations.

This position exercises independent judgment in the operation, maintenance, and protection of critical building systems including electrical distribution, UPS systems, emergency generators, fuel systems, chilled water systems, HVAC infrastructure, fire/life safety systems, building automation systems, and related critical support equipment.

The Senior Associate serves as the on-site operational authority during infrastructure events, manages critical vendor activities, coordinates maintenance and change activities, assesses operational risk, and ensures infrastructure reliability in support of business continuity objectives.

The position requires sound decision-making in dynamic operational environments and is expected to balance infrastructure reliability, operational risk, regulatory compliance, and business requirements.

Your Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain operational ownership of data center critical infrastructure systems and ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of mission-critical facilities.
  • Evaluate operational conditions, assess infrastructure risks, and lead response and recovery efforts during infrastructure incidents, outages, and critical events.
  • Review and coordinate infrastructure changes, maintenance activities, and operational procedures to ensure alignment with reliability, compliance, and business continuity objectives.
  • Serve as the primary operational interface for vendors supporting critical infrastructure, including oversight of maintenance activities, service delivery, and adherence to operational standards.
  • Analyze equipment performance and operational trends and recommend improvements to enhance system reliability, resiliency, and facility performance.
  • Support lifecycle planning, infrastructure modernization initiatives, preventive maintenance programs, and facility infrastructure projects.
  • Serve as Incident Commander or technical lead during infrastructure events, coordinating diagnostics, recovery efforts, and post-event corrective actions.
  • Support audit activities, compliance reviews, operational documentation management, inventory readiness, and governance requirements.
  • Fosters a risk management culture through implementation and demonstration of processes and procedures which identify and mitigate risk.
  • Mitigates risk by following established procedures and monitoring controls, spotting key errors and demonstrating strong ethical behavior

Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree: Require a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent engineering discipline. Facilities Management, Operations Management, or experience alone should not substitute for the engineering degree requirement.
  • 6+ years of experience supporting mission-critical infrastructure environments.
  • BMS/EPMS: Add hands-on experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), including alarm/trend evaluation, infrastructure monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational decision-making.
  • CMMS: Add experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for preventive/corrective maintenance, work orders, asset records, and maintenance documentation.
  • ITIL processes: Add working knowledge of ITIL-based Change, Incident, and Problem Management processes in a mission-critical environment.
  • Vendor and contract management: Expand the current vendor requirement to include contract management, service-provider performance, and oversight of critical maintenance activities.
  • PO/budget oversight: Add experience overseeing purchase orders and budgets associated with facility operations, maintenance services, vendors, and infrastructure projects.
  • Energy/environmental management: Add ISO 50001 and ISO 14001 experience, or experience with equivalent energy and environmental management systems, as a preferred qualification/plus.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
