We are looking for high performing and motivated individuals in various areas within DTNA organizations. DTNA internships begin each summer in May or June.
Interns in this role may have the opportunity to transition into a full-time position subject to manager evaluations and business availability.
As a Reliability Engineering Support Intern at DTNA, you will support investigations into emerging and systemic product issues to determine root causes and drive effective corrective actions. You’ll collaborate closely with various disciplines including Quality, Engineering, Supplier Management, Compliance, Field Staff and Aftersales functions to resolve complex problems impacting our products in the field. In this role, you’ll analyze product performance data, guide troubleshooting efforts, initiate and coordinate field actions, and prepare materials for quality and safety review committees. You’ll leverage your background, knowledge, and leadership skills to amplify the voice of the customer within the organization to support customer uptime and product quality.

Salary placement is determined by your anticipated graduation year and ranges between $21 - $29 per hour.

What You Drive at DTNA
- Analyze and investigate root cause of product failures through failure analysis and troubleshooting while guiding customers on correct repair procedures.
- Investigate new and existing emerging product issues and prioritize work as needed.
- Use all statistical applications to analyze product issue data and detail from field service staff to determine scope and severity of new problems.
- Support meetings and investigations with cross-functional teams to gain understanding of product issues. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement improvements.
- Support field action as appropriate through publications such as: Service Solution, Technical Service Bulletin, Campaign, Recall, or Customer Advisory letter. Communicate immediate field action to dealer techs using DTNA Solutions. Write Literature requests to TechComm team for bulletins, and technical manual changes.
- Analyze financial benefits to determine whether field campaigns or bulletins are appropriate.
- Provide technical support to Field Staff, Field Sales Engineering, Daimler Truck Technical Support (DTTS), TechMod, and others as needed.
- Direct travel of self in coordination with field service staff, customers, and internal business partners to troubleshoot and diagnose product problems.

Knowledge You Should Bring
- Must be currently enrolled in a bachelor’s program or higher or recently graduated within 1 year of the position start date.
- Pursuing a degree in Engineering or related technical field
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Uses analytical thought and skill to independently solve complex problems with minimal guidance, identify solutions and drive production/field resolution.
- Customer orientated with the drive to develop customer-focused solutions.
- Ability to work in an environment of ambiguity and ongoing change.
- Strong oral and written communication skills

Exceptional Candidates Might Have
- Working knowledge internal combustion engine operation including mechanical, electronic and software controls.
- Knowledge and/or experience in Automotive or Trucking
