The posting

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and experienced academic staff who will contribute to the development and testing of FPGA-based electronics for photonic computing.

You should be enrolled in a relevant degree programme, such as electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field, and have practical experience with FPGA programming, electronic circuit design, and Python. Experience with high-speed serial interfaces, PCB design, hardware testing, or photonic-device control would be an advantage. You should be able to work independently, document your work clearly, and collaborate closely with researchers on hardware and software development.

The job

You will contribute to the development of electronic hardware and software for the Digital Optical Neural Network (DONN) processor. Your tasks will include FPGA-based, multi-lane, high-speed signal generation, control of microring resonators (MRRs), and the design and testing of supporting electronic circuits. The aim is to develop and integrate the electronics required to drive and control the DONN photonic integrated circuit on a printed circuit board (PCB). You will also help consolidate, document, and extend the team’s existing Python-based simulation framework to support system design and performance evaluation.

Our expectations of you

We expect that you have a BsC in electronics engineering, familiar with IC design, PCB design, FPGA programming with real-time logics. We also expect that you can work with a team on photonics technologies.

What we offer in return

We offer an interesting and challenging job in an international atmosphere with the focus on research, teaching, innovation and scientific advice for the benefit of the surrounding community. We place emphasis on a high level of professionalism among our staff, so skills development is an integral part of our organization. We offer a great flexibility in the position. Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
