The posting

We are seeking a Junior Commissioning Engineer (Mechanical) to support the commissioning of a 200MW data center project. This role assists in the verification, testing, and documentation of mechanical systems to confirm they are designed, installed, and performing in line with the Owner's Project Requirements (OPR) and Basis of Design (BoD).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support development and execution of commissioning plans, test scripts, and functional performance tests for mechanical systems (chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, cooling towers, pumps, piping systems, air handling units, BMS integration).
  • Witness and document factory acceptance tests (FATs) and site acceptance tests (SATs).
  • Assist with pre-functional checklists, startup verification, and Level 1–5 commissioning activities.
  • Track and log deficiencies (punch lists/issues logs) and follow up on resolution with contractors.
  • Review mechanical shop drawings, submittals, and O&M documentation for compliance with design intent.
  • Support integrated systems testing (IST) coordination between mechanical, electrical, and controls trades.
  • Maintain accurate commissioning records, test data, and reports in line with CxA documentation standards.
  • Attend site walks, coordination meetings, and commissioning progress meetings.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 1–3 years of experience in mechanical commissioning, MEP construction, or building services, ideally within data centers, critical facilities, or mission-critical environments.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC systems, chilled water plants, and cooling infrastructure typical of hyperscale data centers.
  • Familiarity with commissioning standards (e.g., ASHRAE Guideline 0/1.1, IPMVP, or equivalent).
  • Exposure to BMS/controls platforms (Preferred).
  • Experience working under a formal CxA scope on large-scale or mission-critical projects (Preferred).
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CCP, ATP, or working toward chartership) (Preferred).

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
