Job Description:

Position Overview: Regional Operations Manager

The Regional Operations Manager provides leadership and strategic direction for warehouse, customer service, inventory, and logistics operations across multiple company-owned distribution locations within an assigned region. Leading a team of location Operations, Office and Distribution Managers, this role drives consistent execution of safety, inventory accuracy, customer service, and delivery standards across all sites; builds leadership capability and bench strength; and partners with Sales and corporate functions to deliver regional operating and financial results.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead, coach, develop, and evaluate location Operations/Office/Distribution Managers; build leadership bench strength and succession plans across the region.
  • Set regional operating priorities, goals, and KPIs, and hold location leaders accountable for performance against safety, service, inventory, delivery, and cost targets.
  • Standardize processes and drive adoption of best practices across locations to ensure consistent execution and a consistent customer experience.
  • Allocate staffing and resources across locations based on volume, seasonality, and business needs.
  • Own regional safety performance, ensuring all locations comply with DOT and OSHA requirements, pass safety inspections and audits, and complete required monthly safety training.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report regional operating metrics, including customer service, order accuracy, on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, and productivity.
  • Manage regional operating budgets; identify cost-reduction and efficiency opportunities and lead implementation.
  • Oversee regional inventory strategy, including stocking levels, cycle count accuracy, and inter-location transfers, using the company's automated inventory management systems.
  • Oversee delivery scheduling, routing, and fleet utilization across locations; negotiate freight rates and manage carrier relationships.
  • Ensure location adherence to order entry, billing, pricing, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable processes and controls, including accurate customer pricing records in INFOR.
  • Serve as the escalation point for significant customer issues and partner with Sales leadership to protect and grow key accounts.
  • Partner with Human Resources on talent decisions, performance management, employee relations, and policy compliance across the region.
  • Lead or support new location openings, continuous improvement initiatives, and systems implementations within the region.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations and safety standards applicable to warehouse and transportation operations.
  • Strong knowledge of warehousing, inventory management, transportation, and logistics functions; experience with INFOR or a comparable ERP system preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead leaders and manage performance across geographically dispersed locations.
  • Financial acumen, including budget management and metric-driven decision-making.
  • Strong change management, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to influence peers and senior leadership.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; 1 year of relevant experience may substitute for 1 year of degree.

EXPERIENCE: 8+ years of progressive operations experience in distribution, warehousing, or logistics, including 3+ years managing managers across multiple locations.

TRAVEL: Up to 50% travel to locations within the region.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Work is performed in office and warehouse environments. Requires sitting, standing, and walking; occasionally required to stoop, climb, or lift light material or equipment (10–20 lbs).

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
