About Us

Dymon Asia Capital ("Dymon Asia"), founded in 2008, is a leading alternative investment firm with assets across public and private markets. The firm’s flagship hedge fund product is the Multi-Strategy Investment Fund (MSIF), an Asia-focused multi-manager, multi-strategy fund that seeks to generate absolute consistent uncorrelated returns from emerging and developed markets.

Headquartered in Singapore, Dymon Asia operates from nine offices across the Middle East and Asia, including Hong Kong, Tokyo, Dubai, Shanghai, Mumbai, and Kuala Lumpur. Our platform is built on our people. We bring together diverse perspectives, expertise, and experience across our multi-strategy and private markets businesses. Maintaining a collaborative culture where our people are set up to do their best work is central to how we operate.

Overview

Dymon Asia operates a centralized execution desk responsible for equity and macro execution on behalf of portfolio managers across Hong Kong, Singapore and London. We are looking for a Junior Equity Trader to join the desk in Hong Kong. The role will have a strong technology focus. The successful candidate will initially spend a significant portion of their time developing tools and AI-driven workflows for the desk, and will take on increasing execution responsibility over time. Strong technical ability is the primary requirement; market knowledge can be developed on the job.

Location: Hong Kong

Responsibilities

  • Develop tools to automate desk processes, including order entry, blotter checks, reconciliations and end-of-day reporting.
  • Build, maintain and improve AI-based tools used in daily execution, including LLM-driven order handling.
  • Analyse execution data, including transaction cost analysis, slippage and broker and algorithm performance.
  • Integrate trading systems, market data and broker feeds through APIs.
  • Support senior traders in executing Asia equity flow across cash equities, program trades, index events and futures.
  • Monitor orders and limits intraday and escalate issues promptly.
  • Work with portfolio managers to identify workflow improvements and deliver solutions.
  • Coordinate with Technology, Operations and Compliance on system changes.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Python, including pandas and SQL, with a focus on clean, maintainable code.
  • Demonstrable experience building with AI, such as LLM APIs, agents, retrieval-augmented generation or AI coding tools. Candidates should be prepared to discuss a project in detail.
  • Experience working with APIs and data pipelines.
  • Familiarity with version control (Git) and sound software development practices.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related field. Equivalent experience through substantial projects will also be considered.

Market Knowledge

Prior trading experience is not required, but a genuine interest in financial markets is essential. This may be demonstrated through personal investing, a markets internship or close following of Asian markets. A working understanding of equities, order types and exchange mechanics is advantageous. Training in execution and market structure will be provided.

Personal Attributes

  • Highly motivated, with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to work independently.
  • A collaborative team player, comfortable working with colleagues across Hong Kong, Singapore and London.
  • A strong interest in markets and a long-term commitment to a career in trading.
  • Composed under pressure, with close attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and spoken English; Mandarin or Cantonese is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with order and execution management systems, the FIX protocol or the Bloomberg API.
  • Front-end or dashboard development experience (e.g. React, Streamlit).
  • Familiarity with containerisation or cloud platforms (e.g. Docker, AWS, Azure).
  • Exposure to futures, options or macro products.

What We Offer

The opportunity to join a growing global execution desk, where the tools you build are used daily by traders and portfolio managers. The role offers close mentorship from senior traders, a clear path to a full trading position, and a competitive compensation and benefits package.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
