Human Resources Manager

We are currently seeking a Human Resources Manager to join our Ed Morse team.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure full compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations, including but not limited to FLSA, EEOC, ADA, OSHA, and DOT requirements.
  • Administer and monitor Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) checks for all team members operating company vehicles; evaluate driving eligibility and maintain documentation.
  • Oversee I-9 completion, audits, and record retention policies.
  • Maintain up-to-date personnel files and HRIS records in compliance with legal and company standards.
  • Coordinate internal audits and prepare for external compliance reviews or investigations.
  • Work with Corporate HR management to develop and implement HR policies and procedures that align with company goals.
  • Partner with location leadership to ensure compliance training is being completed in a timely manner.
  • Manage leave of absence programs (FMLA/LOA), workplace safety, and risk mitigation practices.
  • Facilitate orientation sessions covering company policies, compliance requirements, and role-specific expectations.
  • Partner with department leaders to identify training needs and implement continuous learning programs (e.g., safety training, customer service, leadership development).
  • Track and report on training completion, certifications, and compliance-related education.
  • Evaluate onboarding and training effectiveness and continuously improve programs.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and team members on HR-related matters.
  • Investigate team member concerns, complaints, and workplace issues in a fair and timely manner.
  • Support performance management processes, including disciplinary actions and performance improvement plans.
  • Promote a positive work environment aligned with company values and culture.
  • Support the Risk team as necessary to promote workplace safety initiatives in compliance with OSHA and automotive industry standards.
  • Coordinate incident reporting, workers’ compensation claims, FMLA and return-to-work programs.
  • Ensure all team members receive proper safety training and certifications as required
  • Multi-location support, including occasional travel to dealership sites.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced automotive environment.
  • High level of confidentiality and professionalism required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience, preferred).
  • 5+ years of HR management experience, preferably within the automotive, hospitality or multi-location environment.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, compliance requirements, and HR best practices.
  • Demonstrated success in onboarding, training program development, and employee engagement.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems (ADP Workforce, ComplyNet and Microsoft Office Suite)
  • HR certification (PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP/SCP) preferred.
