Job Description:

Career Pathway Facilitator

Position Description

Salary: $55,000/year

Title: Career Pathway Facilitator (CPES)

Classification: Non-Exempt

Scope of Position: The Career Pathway Facilitator is responsible for Career Pathway Enabling Services (CPES) in Middlesex County’s workforce development system. This position delivers skill-based instruction and provides navigation support of online courses to help eligible WIOA and WFNJ participants prepare for occupational training and unsubsidized employment. The facilitator works in coordination with the Middlesex County Office of Workforce and Career Development (OWCD) and American Job Center (AJC) partners.

Essential Functions:

·

  • Receive referred individuals whose IEP/ISS link to CPES services.
  • Establish a positive, high-performing culture by demonstrating EDSI’s core values
  • Plan and facilitate group workshops in the CPES service areas: digital literacy and workforce technology skills; job readiness, job search and employability skills; financial literacy and workplace readiness; and communication, conflict resolution and other behavioral and foundational skills.
  • Enroll and provide technology navigation support to customers receiving Adult Basic Education (ABE), ESL/ELL, and GED/HSE preparation through the Empower360 platform.
  • Facilitate resume development, interview preparation and mock interviews.
  • Structure instruction, sequencing, frequency and duration so participants show documented progression along a career pathway.
  • Deliver services in person, virtually or in hybrid formats, and ensure equitable access for all participants.
  • Use client-centered, trauma-informed and culturally responsive approaches
  • Recruit, engage and retain participants, and adapt instruction for digital access, language and accessibility needs.
  • Support transitions into training, credentials and employment.
  • Coordinate with OWCD staff, AJC partners and training providers to ensure seamless, non-duplicative service delivery.
  • Take part in meetings and work within the MOU/IFA agreements.
  • Report attendance, engagement and progress to OWCD Case Managers so they can handle documentation and compliance.
  • For WFNJ participants, align services with assigned work activities and document participation accurately to support compliance and help prevent improper sanctions.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, audit-ready records, including attendance, case notes and service records, that show a direct link between the service delivered, the participant and the reported outcome.
  • Submit client-level data to OWCD or subrecipient case management through approved secure processes for data entry into AOSOS.
  • Take part in OWCD and NJDOL monitoring, quality assurance and continuous improvement, and carry out corrective actions as directed.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in education, human services, workforce development or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience facilitating or teaching adults in group settings.
  • Experience serving participants with barriers to employment, ideally WIOA or WFNJ (TANF/GA/SNAP) populations
  • Ability to work with limited English proficient participants and participants with disabilities
  • Strong documentation, attendance tracking and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, virtual meeting platforms and basic digital literacy tools
  • Bilingual or multilingual ability preferred
  • Experience in trauma-informed care and confidentiality practices
  • Delivery across in-person and hybrid settings at AJC and partner locations in Middlesex County

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
