Part-Time General Education Instructor - Sociology

Position Summary:

The instructor teaches one or more sociology courses as scheduled, providing student advising and support, participating in outreach and attendance initiatives, and completing professional development.

Requirements:

  • A Master degree in sociology or a related discipline, with at least 15-18 postgraduate credit hours completed in the subject area being taught
  • At least 3 years of experience in the field
  • Prior postsecondary education teaching experience is preferred but not required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with various instructional technologies, or the ability to quickly adapt to and learn technology, such as Canvas, CampusVue, etc
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Team player who demonstrates initiative, dependability, and reliability.
