The posting

Purpose 

The Welding Supervisor leads manufacturing and distribution activities for EFCO forming systems. This role supervises production operations to ensure quality, safety, and efficiency, while supporting inventory management and employee development. Additionally, this role serves as a key representative of management on the shop floor, promoting a positive work culture and continuous improvement in support of EFCO’s goals. 

 

  Key Responsibilities 

Leadership and Production Supervision (30%)

Provide direct leadership to hourly production employees while monitoring performance, ensuring accountability, and fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement. Administer daily production schedules, allocate resources effectively, oversee departmental operations, and maintain alignment with EFCO’s quality and efficiency goals. Apply Leadership, Responsibility, and Technical Skills to drive results and employee engagement. 

  Inventory Control and Department Organization (30%)

Manage the layout and organization of production materials, ensuring efficient use of space and inventory accuracy. Coordinate raw material flow and finished goods movement to support customer delivery expectations. Demonstrate Judgment and Organization in balancing workflow and resource availability. 

  Employee Development and Performance Management (15%)

Lead the hiring, onboarding, training, and development of hourly team members. Conduct performance evaluations, guide career development, and ensure compliance with company policies and applicable employment standards. Foster a high-performance environment through coaching, feedback, and clear expectations. 

  Safety Oversight and Compliance (15%)

Train employees on equipment use and enforce EFCO safety protocols. Proactively identify safety risks, lead incident investigations, and ensure regulatory compliance. Use Leadership and Adaptability to model safe behaviors and corrective action where needed.

  Team Motivation and Communication (5%)

Support a respectful, team-oriented work environment by recognizing contributions, resolving conflicts, and encouraging collaboration. Apply Oral Communication and Emotional Intelligence to keep employees informed, motivated, and aligned with department goals. 

  Other Duties (5%)

Support special projects and broader plant initiatives as assigned by management. Demonstrate flexibility and commitment to EFCO’s operational success. 

  Other duties may be assigned as required to meet departmental or organizational goals. 

  Qualifications 

Education: College degree or equivalent experience required. Experience: 5+ years of experience. Certifications: CWB Certified Welding Supervisor. Leadership: Proven leadership and team motivation experience. Computer Skills: Excellent PC skills required. Additional Skills:

Strong mathematical aptitude. Ability to interpret blueprints and production drawings. Working knowledge of manufacturing processes. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills required. Must be able to work effectively under pressure and maintain confidentiality.

  Physical Demands

Work involves medium physical effort including lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally and standing or walking for extended periods. 

 

To ensure a safe work environment while meeting the physical demands of the job you must be able to perform the following physical and mental tasks:

Balancing - maintaining equilibrium when walking, climbing, crouching, sitting, standing, etc. - Constantly Repetitive Motions - Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. - Occasionally Sitting/Standing – must be able to sit or stand as required for extended periods of time. – Frequently Stooping – bending at the waist – Occasionally Lifting motions or lifting objects up to 50 lbs. - Occasionally Walking - frequently Climbing - ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles etc. - Occasionally Hearing – must be able to discern warning sounds and spoken language – Frequently Talking – Frequently Capacity to think, concentrate and focus for long periods of time– Frequently Ability to read complex documents in the English language– Frequently Capacity to reason and make sound decisions– Frequently Ability to write complex documents in the English language– Frequently Capacity to express thoughts orally– Frequently Ability to work in a manufacturing environment exposed to noise, temperature variations and dust. Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required 

 

The position is currently classified as on-site.
