The posting

Want to be part of transforming road freight? Einride is showing the world a new way to move, based on the latest digital, autonomous and electric technologies. We build the technology that hauls freight efficiently, and we put it to work for the world's leading manufacturers, retailers, logistics providers and defense organizations, all working toward a future where moving goods cost less for our customers, and less for the planet.

Founded in 2016, Einride became the first company in the world to deploy a cab-less autonomous electric vehicle on a public road (Sweden, 2019). In 2022, we were the first to successfully operate such a vehicle on a U.S. public road. In June 2026, Einride became a publicly listed company on Nasdaq, a milestone that reflects a decade of turning what once looked like science fiction into everyday reality. Today, our technology moves freight across North America, Europe, and the Middle East for some of the world's biggest shippers.

Based in the Northeast, the Fleet Technician will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing our fleet of vehicles and equipment. You will ensure maximum uptime with a specific focus on heavy-duty electric engines, hydraulics, and specialized machinery. This role requires the ability to work in varied environments, including the harsh winter conditions typical of the region.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Preventative Maintenance (PM): Performing oil changes, fluid checks and safety inspections heavy-duty vehicles.
  • Diagnostics and Repair: Utilizing computer diagnostic tools to diagnose and repair electric vehicles, for example electrical systems, suspensions, and braking systems (ABS/air brakes).
  • Mobile Service/Field Service: Traveling to sites for PM, diagnostic or repairs that are needed
  • Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate service records, work orders, and inventory logs in our fleet management software system

We expect you to have:

  • Generally 2+ years of experience in the repair of heavy duty vehicles (preferably electric vehicles).
  • High school diploma or GED; completion of an accredited vocational or diesel technology program is highly preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License required; Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is often required, or must be obtained within a probationary period.
  • Ability to lift up to 75–100 lbs., walk on uneven surfaces, climb into large vehicles, and work in awkward positions (e.g., under a vehicle on a creeper).

Working Environment: Automotive garage, service station, or site and all-weather conditions.

What We Offer

  • Comprehensive Healthcare: Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage
  • Retirement & Savings: 401(k) plan with company match
  • Generous Time Off: 25 days PTO, 15 sick days, and 15 paid US holidays annually
  • Perks & Wellbeing: Annual wellness stipend

This is a full-time position based in Chicago, USA. We recommend that you submit your application as soon as possible since selection and interviews are held continually.

Please note that as part of our standard recruitment process, we conduct a background control on the final candidate for this role. This may include verification of education, employment history, any relevant professional certifications or other information that may be of our interest.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
