Job Description: Education: Required: Graduate of an accredited Licensed Vocation Nurse Program if hired after March 1, 2025; proof of graduation not required if LVN license issued and maintained in good standing by California Board of Vocational Nursing prior to January 1, 2000; if assigned to CC7700 Wound Care Clinic (Warke) must complete Hyperbaric Medicine (HBOT) training course completion within one (1) year of hire Licensure/Certification: Required: California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN); Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association (AHA); Additional certifications required as outlined: Intravenous Therapy and Blood Withdrawal Certification: Upon hire: 7010 Emergency Room Within 90 days: 6401 Perinatology 7013 OB-ED (Obstetrics Emergency Dept) Within 6 months: 7087 EDOC Pain Management (South Palm Canyon) 7089 EDOC Pain Management (Rancho Mirage) 8040 Urgent Care (Argyros) 8043 Urgent Care (Sunrise) 8045 Urgent Care (Rancho Mirage) 8732 Clinic Division Float Pool Neonatal Resuscitation Advanced Provider (NRP) certification from AHA and American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Within 90 days: 6401 Perinatology 7013 OB-ED (Obstetrics Emergency Dept) Experience: Preferred: Healthcare experience; experience communicating and translating medical terminology using bilingual Spanish/English skills in a hospital, clinic or medical practice setting Reports To: Manager, Director or Chief Administrative Officer Supervises: N/A Ages of Patients (as assigned): Neonate/Infant, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric Blood Borne Pathogens: High Potential Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and unexpected situations, Ability to create a welcoming environment for patients and visitors, demonstrating empathy and respect in all interactions, Ability to effectively communicate in a positive and professional manner, Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations in a calm and professional manner, Ability to organize information or data to facilitate easy retrieval and use, Ability to use general office equipment (i.e., computer, printer, scanner, telephone, etc.), Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and other relevant software applications, Critical thinking skills, Knowledge of diseases, diagnostic tests, treatments, medical supplies and equipment, Self-starter; driven to take action without needing prompting, Written and verbal communication skills Essential Responsibilities 1. Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations. 2. Performs within the scope of practice for the professional license held. 3. Assists Registered Nurses (RN) and physicians by ensuring that appropriate data collection and preparation, examination and diagnostic testing occur without error and without delay. 4. Ensures accurate documentation of all patient care activity; communicates data on patient assessment to RN, if applicable. 5. Completes patient assignment within assigned shift as directed by RN; evaluates effectiveness of nursing interventions and patients progress toward expected outcomes every shift, if applicable. 6. Maintains lab and other diagnostic test results and reports to RN in a timely manner, if applicable. 7. Orders and communicates supply needs to supervisor to ensure work areas are appropriately and maintained. 8. Answers telephone in a polite efficient manner; takes clear and accurate messages, transfers calls. 9. Provides timely and appropriate discharge instructions to patients. 10. Contributes to cost effectiveness by using judgment when opening and using supplies. 11. Maximizes free time between patients and other duties to assist with cleaning and organizing workstation, cleaning rooms, and filing; assists other nurses with care, if applicable. 12. Performs patient callbacks with information about test results or for quality customer service. 13. Coordinates breaks and lunch periods with team members so as not to compromise patient flow. 14. Maintains and practices professional boundaries with all patient interactions. 15. Performs other duties as assigned. Welcome to Eisenhower Health Careers!
