Job Description

At EisnerAmper, we look for individuals who welcome new ideas, encourage innovation, and are eager to make an impact. Whether you're starting out in your career or taking your next step as a seasoned professional, the EisnerAmper experience is one-of-a-kind. You can design a career you'll love from top to bottom — we give you the tools you need to succeed and the autonomy to reach your goals.

EisnerAmper is seeking a Risk Management Manager to serve as the risk management leader for our Financial Advisory Services (FAS) practice. FAS provides restructuring, bankruptcy, complex litigation, and other financial advisory services to clients, including Assignments for the Benefit of Creditors (ABC). In this role, you will partner closely with FAS leadership and engagement teams to identify and address professional, regulatory, and operational risks early, while developing practical controls, workflows, and training that support engagements from intake through case closure. You will work collaboratively with the Office of General Counsel, firmwide risk management, and outside counsel, when appropriate, on matters requiring legal review and approval. Reporting to the FAS Director of Operations, this role offers the opportunity to shape risk management across a complex, fast-paced practice while helping protect both the firm and its clients without slowing down the delivery of high-quality client service.

What it Means to Work for EisnerAmper:

· You will get to be part of one of the largest and fastest-growing accounting and advisory firms in the industry

· You will have the flexibility to manage your days in support of our commitment to work-life balance

· You will join a culture that has received multiple top "Places to Work" awards

· We believe that great work is accomplished when cultures, ideas, and experiences come together to create new solutions

· We understand that embracing our differences is what unites us as a team and strengthens our foundation

· Showing up authentically is how we, both as professionals and a firm, find inspiration to do our best work

What You Will Be Responsible For:

Contract Preparation & Negotiation

  • Draft, review, and negotiate NDAs, engagement letters, and client agreements across restructuring, bankruptcy, complex litigation, and other FAS engagements
  • Prepare and negotiate vendor, subcontractor, and consulting agreements needed to support ABC administration and other FAS engagement delivery
  • Draft and negotiate employment and contractor agreements, including agreements for the hiring and administration of international personnel

Risk Management & Compliance

  • Provide advice and counsel to FAS engagement teams on routine risk issues arising across restructuring, bankruptcy, complex litigation, and other financial advisory engagements
  • Support engagement teams in performing assignee and fiduciary duties on ABC engagements, including creditor notice, claims administration, bonding requirements, and asset sale or liquidation processes, reviewing them for consistency with firm policy and the governing state ABC statute
  • Support engagement teams on bankruptcy engagements, including retention applications, fee examiner and fee application requirements, and compliance with bankruptcy court rules and U.S. Trustee guidelines
  • Advise engagement teams on independence, conflicts, and disclosure obligations arising on complex litigation and dispute advisory engagements, including matters involving expert testimony
  • Identify, assess, and help remediate operational, contractual, and regulatory risk exposure across FAS engagements, escalating higher-severity items to GCO
  • Develop and manage the Enterprise Risk Management program for the ABC entities and the broader FAS practice
  • Coordinate with insurance brokers/carriers on coverage questions and claims, looping in GCO on matters affecting firm-wide policies
  • Oversee litigation matters against entities in the ABC portfolio and other FAS-related matters
  • Supervise client proposal and client acceptance processes to ensure compliance with independence and conflict of interest policies across FAS engagementsTrack the statutes, case law, bankruptcy rules, and litigation-related professional standards across the jurisdictions where the practice operates, since requirements vary meaningfully by jurisdiction and engagement type, and translate those differences into practical guidance and jurisdiction-specific checklists for engagement teams
  • Monitor engagements for developing risk issues, such as scope changes, fee disputes, adverse party challenges, or confidentiality concerns, and escalate matters to practice and firm leadership as warranted
  • Track broader regulatory and professional standards developments affecting restructuring, bankruptcy, complex litigation, and other financial advisory practice areas, and translate them into practical guidance for engagement teams
  • Partner with information security and technology teams to evaluate risk related to the use of new tools and data-sharing practices on FAS engagements, including appropriate controls around confidential and privileged information
  • Develop and deliver risk management training for FAS professionals, covering topics such as independence, conflicts checks, documentation standards, engagement letter requirements, and expert-witness and testimony protocols
  • Maintain the practice's risk register and produce periodic reporting for FAS and firm leadership summarizing open risk items, trends, and remediation status
  • Support incident response and root-cause review when risk or quality issues arise on an engagement and help translate lessons learned into updated policies or training
  • Serve as a resource to engagement teams on engagement letters, scope changes, and other contract matters, working with the Office of General Counsel on non-standard terms

HR Operations Support

  • Partner with Human Resources on policy development, employee relations issues, and compliance matters related to the entities in the ABC portfolio and the broader FAS practice

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience in risk management, quality control, compliance, or a related function within a professional services organization, such as a CPA firm, law firm, or consulting firm
  • A working understanding of restructuring, bankruptcy, complex litigation, or other financial advisory engagements, including Assignment for the Benefit of Creditors (ABC) matters, and the engagement risks specific to these areas of practice

Preferred/Desired Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor, Master's degree, or equivalent advanced degree
  • CPA, CIRA, CFE, or a similar professional credential
  • Direct experience with Assignment for the Benefit of Creditors engagements, including assignee bonding, creditor notice and claims administration, and the state-specific statutory requirements that govern ABC filings
  • Familiarity with bankruptcy court procedures, Chapter 11 or Chapter 7 proceedings, retention and fee application requirements, and other insolvency proceedings
  • Familiarity with the independence, conflicts, and disclosure considerations that arise on complex litigation, expert testimony, and dispute advisory engagements
  • Exposure to other financial advisory engagement types, such as forensic accounting, valuation, or transaction advisory services
  • Familiarity with conflicts-checking software, engagement risk platforms, or similar risk management technology
  • Working knowledge of risk management frameworks, such as COSO ERM, and their practical application in a professional services setting
  • Experience developing and delivering training on risk, compliance, or quality topics to practitioners at multiple levels
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills, with the ability to identify risk patterns across a portfolio of engagements and recommend practical remediation
  • Proven ability to work across multiple levels of leadership, build trust with partners and managing directors, and handle confidential information with a high degree of integrity
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain risk and compliance requirements clearly to non-specialist audiences
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills
  • Workflow and process improvement experience, including the use of technology to drive efficiency, paired with a clear understanding of appropriate risk controls

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
