Your Role: Sales Excellence Intern- AI Innovation & Enablement
As the Sales Excellence Intern – AI Innovation & Enablement, you will serve as the team’s resident AI specialist embedded within the US Pet Health Sales Excellence and Training team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for evaluating and maximizing AI capabilities across existing and prospective learning platforms, engineering high-impact AI role-play simulations that deliver precise sales coaching, and identifying emerging AI/GenAI tools and automation workflows to dramatically increase overall team efficiency. This position will work closely with sales and marketing teams to create tailored, AI selling scenarios that drive skill development and elevated sales performance.
Your Responsibilities:
- Audit & Roadmap AI Capabilities: Conduct comprehensive technical and functional audits of current learning systems and future platforms to identify gaps and build a roadmap for maximizing AI-driven learning and sales enablement.
- Engineer & Calibrate AI Role-Plays: Design, test, and optimize conversational AI role-play simulations (including advanced prompt engineering, custom personas, and evaluation rubrics) to deliver accurate, realistic, and constructive feedback to sales reps.
- Identify Team Efficiency & Automation Opportunities: Champion the adoption of Generative AI tools and automated workflows across the Sales Excellence team to streamline content creation, reporting, and operational processes.
- Monitor Quality & Feedback Precision: Implement quality assurance protocols to ensure AI feedback mechanisms are aligned with sales competencies, free of hallucinations/bias, and generating measurable commercial capability gains.
- Deliver Strategic Recommendations: Benchmark emerging AI technologies and deliver executive-ready presentations and proof-of-concept demonstrations to Sales Excellence leadership.
What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):
- Education: Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Artificial Intelligence, Business (Marketing, Communications, Management, etc.) or related technical field (or equivalent practical AI project experience).
- Experience: Significant hands-on experience building, fine-tuning, or deploying AI/GenAI solutions (e.g., prompt engineering, LLM application development, conversational agents, workflow automations, or AI-driven analytics projects).
- Top 2 Skills: Deep practical proficiency with Generative AI / Large Language Models (LLMs) and strong consultative skills to translate complex technical AI capabilities into practical, efficiency-driving business solutions. Solid foundation in business principals and the selling process.
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):
- Prior experience with AI role-play simulation engines, speech-to-text/NLP tools, or sales enablement/LXP/LMS platforms.
- Experience with prompt chaining, system instructions, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), or automation tools (e.g., Power Automate, Python scripting, API integrations).
- Familiarity with enterprise AI governance, model evaluation frameworks, and rubric-based output grading.
- Understanding of consultative sales methodologies, adult learning principles, or the healthcare/animal health industry.
