💡 Our Mission

At elyndra, we're transforming social care by solving the challenges of paperwork overload, staff burnout, and inefficient systems. Our technology gives time back to care professionals, so they can focus on what matters most—people, not paperwork.

We're pioneering Ontological Hybrid Intelligence, combining the intuition and experience of care professionals with the pattern recognition capabilities of machine intelligence. By surfacing hidden connections across time, events, and behaviors, our system acts as a "pattern suggestor," providing insights that support faster, smarter decision-making while ensuring professionals remain in control.

Our mission is personal—founded on family experience in care settings, we've seen firsthand how better technology can transform outcomes for both care professionals and those they support.

Backed by leading London VCs and angel investors, we've completed a successful pilot and are now onboarding our first paying customers. We also have a strategic commercial partnership with a private equity group that owns over 160 care homes, creating a clear and scalable route to market.

🚀 The Startup Reality

A startup building something that matters without the corporate overhead:

🎯 Zero BS culture - Direct communication, honest feedback, no politics

🔓 Total transparency - You'll know the financials, the challenges, everything

🌍 Tech for good - Commercial success how we scale our impact to where its needed

⚡ Speed & Iteration - Fast feedback loops and rapid iteration are how we grow and improve every day

🛠️ Build-test-learn - We experiment, get things in front of critics, and let the real world guide us

🧠 The Role

You'll reimagine how care professionals interact with AI—moving beyond traditional interfaces to create seamless, intuitive experiences that blend into the care environment.

We need a visionary designer who understands that the best interface might be no interface at all. You'll challenge conventional assumptions about how users should interact with technology in care settings, designing experiences that minimise cognitive load and maximise impact.

This isn't about making a prettier website—it's about fundamentally rethinking the relationship between care professionals and technology, potentially removing screens entirely where appropriate, and creating ambient, voice-driven, or invisible interfaces that feel natural in care environments.

📋 What You'll Actually Design

Systems Thinking

  • Reimagine the entire interaction model between care professionals and AI systems
  • Design for seamless transitions between digital and physical care environments
  • Create systems where AI works alongside humans naturally, with minimal interface friction
  • Develop new paradigms for how insights are delivered in the context of care work
  • Map the entire ecosystem of care interactions to identify opportunities for invisible or ambient interfaces

Beyond Traditional UI

  • Design voice, gesture, or ambient interfaces that reduce screen time in care settings
  • Create interactions that respect the highly human nature of care work
  • Develop systems where technology fades into the background while enhancing capabilities
  • Explore how AI can anticipate needs and proactively support care professionals
  • Design for environments where traditional screens are inappropriate or intrusive

🧩 About You

Technical Skills - Essential

  • Experience designing beyond traditional screens—voice, ambient, or invisible interfaces
  • Deep understanding of AI capabilities and limitations in human-computer interaction
  • Portfolio showing systemic design thinking and novel interaction patterns
  • Ability to prototype unconventional interfaces that challenge status quo assumptions
  • Strong grasp of how technology can blend into physical environments

Mindset - Absolutely Critical

  • You question fundamental assumptions about how humans should interact with technology
  • You're comfortable designing for interactions that might not exist yet
  • You think in systems and ecosystems rather than screens and buttons
  • You understand that sometimes the best design removes technology from view entirely
  • You can envision interaction patterns that might initially seem strange to users but become intuitive through thoughtful design

Highly Desirable

  • Experience with conversational UIs, voice interfaces, or ambient computing
  • Knowledge of AI/ML capabilities and how they enable new interaction paradigms
  • Understanding of context-aware design and how to create systems that adapt to environments
  • Experience designing for environments where technology shouldn't be the focus
  • Ability to create design systems that span digital and physical touchpoints

Bonus Points

  • Background in service design or experience design beyond digital products
  • Experience with speculative design or designing for emerging technologies
  • Understanding of care environments and the unique constraints they present
  • Knowledge of behavioural psychology and how it influences technology adoption
  • Experience designing AI systems that work alongside humans as partners

Must-Haves

  • You can pass an enhanced DBS check (we work with vulnerable people's data)
  • You're willing to occasionally visit care settings to understand the real problems
  • You have the right to work in the UK

💰 What's In It For You

  • Competitive Salary: Up to £80,000, depending on experience
  • Meaningful Equity: 0.5% – 1.5% in a venture-backed startup
  • Make an Impact: Create interfaces that genuinely improve lives—not just another app
  • Shape the Future: Define our visual identity and user experience from the ground up
  • Clear Progression: Opportunity to build and lead a design team as we grow
  • Hybrid Remote Working: Flexibility to work remotely, with purpose-driven team connection
  • Leave: 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Flexible Hours: Work in a way that suits your life and delivers your best
  • Professional Development: Budget for design tools, courses, and conference attendance

📍 Location

Hybrid Remote London (WeWork, Canary Wharf) with occasional care home visits.

🔍 Our Hiring Process

We aim to keep things transparent, efficient, and respectful of your time. Here's what you can expect:

  • Portfolio Review: Your portfolio will be reviewed by the Founder and our Development Partner.
  • Design Challenge: A focused design exercise to assess your approach to solving a real problem we face (we respect your time—this won't be overly extensive).
  • Founder Interview: A conversation with the Founder to explore your motivations, previous experience, and current situation. Think of it as a vibe check to ensure alignment on both sides.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
