The Opportunity
The Mechanical Engineering Department at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach is seeking Lab Supervisor & Teaching Assistant who will support the Department's experiential learning activities including laboratory courses, student projects, and research projects.
Key responsibilities:
- Oversight of laboratory spaces including safety, OSHA compliance, lab policies, and general maintenance.
- Instructional assistance in machine shop and materials labs including sheet metal, milling, turning, welding, measurements, and materials testing.
- Supervision and training of student employees including selection, training, and daily oversight.
- General departmental support of activities and events.
This is a 40 hour/week in-person position located at the Daytona Beach, Florida Campus and is not remote or hybrid. Hours may be non-traditional to support laboratory activities and may include evenings and occasional weekends. Exact work schedules will be determined in concert with supervisor.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, relevant certifications such as A&P, and/or experience in relevant work.
- Experience with manufacturing techniques including welding, CNC machining, sheet metal, and hand fabrication techniques.
- Skills with CAD and CAM software such as SolidWorks or CATIA.
- A desire to work with and teach undergraduate students.
- Experience with OSHA and other relevant health and safety regulations.
