The posting

Do you want to contribute to the secure and stable operation of the Danish power system as renewable energy continues to grow? You will combine power system engineering, data analytics and applied research to develop methods and tools that support system stability and the management of critical power system events.

Join our power system specialists

At our head office in Fredericia you join a department responsible for supporting the secure and stable operation of the Danish power system, both today and in the future with an increasing share of renewable energy. We develop methods, analyses and digital solutions that support system stability, security of supply and the handling of major disturbances. As part of Energinet’s System Operations organisation, we work closely with the Control Centre, IT specialists and international transmission system operators.

The department consists of 18 colleagues organised into two groups. Together, we combine knowledge in power system operations, grid analysis, system stability, data analytics, and digital solution development. You become part of an inter-national and collaborative environment where we use both Danish and English in our daily work.

Develop methods and tools for system stability

You contribute to developing next-generation dynamic stability assessment, system monitoring, and power system restoration capabilities for an electricity system increasingly based on renewable energy.

Your primary responsibilities include:

  • analysing power system dynamics, stability and disturbance events using PowerFactory and PSCAD
  • developing and applying methods based on PMU and other operational measurement data
  • identifying stability risks and proposing mitigation measures together with operational specialists
  • supporting the digitalisation and automation of processes related to Dynamic Stability Assessment
  • collaborating with operational specialists, software developers, researchers and external partners across the Nordic and European power sector

“You join a specialised environment where we share knowledge, ask questions and solve complex technical challenges together.” – Nan Qin, Team Leader

Bring your technical curiosity

You have a relevant background in electrical engineering, power systems or a related technical discipline. You may be newly graduated or have some professional experience. Experience with power system analysis, dynamic simulations, PowerFactory, programming, measurement data or digital tool development is an advantage.

Most importantly, you are curious, structured and keen to learn. You ask questions and seek input when needed, while also taking responsibility for your own analyses. You enjoy teamwork, and you are equally comfortable addressing complex technical questions on your own.

Will you make a difference with us?

We look forward to receiving your motivated CV no later than 8 November. You may want to pencil in a couple of dates in your calendar already. We expect the first interview to take place online on 13 November and the second interview in Fredericia on 19 November.

If you have questions about the job, please contact Thue Søndergård Thomsen, Head of Department, on mail [email protected].

Special conditions: As Energinet performs tasks critical to society, we carry out background checks prior to employment. Employment is conditional upon your background check being compatible with employment at Energinet. The background check is also carried out once a year.

The position also requires that you are able to obtain and maintain security clearance. On PET's website, you can read more about security clearance.

We see diversity as a strength and encourage all qualified people, regardless of background, to apply for the job. We work actively and determinedly with diversity in Energinet and therefore encourage you to exclude information about age, marital status, etc. to minimise outage biases in the process. You can read more about our diversity policy here.

Energinet Systemsansvar's core tasks are to integrate renewable energy, ensure equal access to the grids, develop market design, monitor, and balance the transmission grid and ensure security of supply in Denmark. Our culture is closely linked to our social responsibility, and we work actively with the UN's global goals on sustainable energy, climate action, partnerships for action as well as industry, innovation, and infrastructure. By leading the way in the green transition, we can help to solve the global climate challenge. Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
