The posting

Enlight is a leading global renewable energy company, developing, building, owning and operating large-scale solar, wind and energy storage projects across the U.S., Europe and MENA.

We're growing, and looking for talented people to join us on the journey.

Serves as the technical specialist for electrical systems across the operating portfolio, focusing on HV/MV infrastructure, substations, transformers, switchgear, protection systems, and electrical balance-of-plant equipment.

Provides engineering support for complex electrical failures, maintenance activities, inspections, technical modifications, and reliability-improvement initiatives.

Ensures electrical systems are maintained and operated in accordance with company standards, regulatory requirements, safety requirements, and industry best practices

Responsibilities

Engineering Support:

  • Support asset management and field operations in diagnosing and resolving faults involving substations, transformers, switchgear, collector networks, and protection systems, based on data, test results, drawings, and equipment documentation.
  • Develop recommendations and corrective actions, oversee their implementation through closure, and escalate significant risks and recurring failures to the team leader.

Maintenance and Reliability

  • Review and improve preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for critical equipment, including condition monitoring, testing, and inspections, based on recurring failures, deterioration trends, and reliability risks across all assets.
  • Support the planning of major maintenance activities and component replacements in coordination with field operations to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.

Testing and Condition Assessment

  • Define, perform, or supervise testing and condition assessments, including protection system testing, transformer diagnostics, and switchgear testing; coordinate external service providers as required.
  • Analyze results, determine corrective actions or follow-up testing requirements, and document, prioritize, and track significant findings through closure.

Failure Investigation and Root Cause Analysis

  • Lead or support root cause analysis (RCA) of significant electrical failures and incidents, and critically review findings from contractors, equipment manufacturers, and external consultants.
  • Identify potential exposure across all assets arising from defects or recurring failure mechanisms, define corrective and preventive actions, and incorporate lessons learned into maintenance practices and technical standards.

Standards, Safety, and Quality

  • Develop and update technical standards, maintenance requirements, and engineering practices; support compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, including switching procedures and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
  • Assess the quality of maintenance activities and contractor and supplier performance, support audits of systems, maintenance practices, and contractor performance, and provide technical guidance and training to teams and contractors as required.

Projects, Modifications, and Major Repairs

  • Provide engineering support for major repairs, upgrades, equipment replacements, and system modifications; review scopes of work, specifications, designs, and proposed solutions, and support the technical evaluation of suppliers, contractors, and alternative equipment options.
  • Provide technical oversight during critical execution, testing, and commissioning stages, ensuring that modifications are documented and incorporated into asset documentation and maintenance requirements.

Operational Readiness and Handover

  • Support the technical review and acceptance of electrical systems at new assets and following major upgrades, including documentation, test records, protection settings, maintenance requirements, and outstanding issues.
  • Identify operational readiness gaps and support their resolution before or after asset handover; provide feedback to engineering and construction teams to improve design, maintainability, and reliability in future projects.

Requirements

  • B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, with registration in the Register of Engineers and Architects in the Electrical Engineering section.
  • Valid electrical license required; a Licensed Electrical Engineer license is an advantage.
  • 2–5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Proven experience in the renewable energy sector – mandatory.
  • Proven experience with commercial energy storage systems (BESS) – mandatory.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
