What You'll Do

Position Overview

The Global Supply Chain Finance Leader is a strategic finance executive responsible for leading financial planning, performance management, cost optimization, and business partnership across a global supply chain organization. This role will provide financial leadership to manufacturing operations across multiple countries and sites, driving profitable growth, operational excellence, productivity, and disciplined capital allocation.

The successful leader must operate with a highly proactive business partner mindset, anticipating future needs, forecasting operational and financial outcomes, identifying opportunities and risks before they materialize, and influencing strategic decisions that enable a high-performing global supply chain organization.

This position is responsible for driving financial performance, operational excellence, productivity, capital efficiency, and long-term value creation while ensuring alignment between supply chain strategy, operational execution, and enterprise financial objectives.

The leader will serve as a key business partner to the Global Supply Chain leadership team, translating operational performance into financial outcomes and enabling data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Global Manufacturing Finance Leadership

  • Lead the finance organization supporting global manufacturing operations across multiple plants, countries, and regions.
  • Establish a consistent global finance operating model, processes, KPIs, and governance framework.
  • Partner with manufacturing and operations leadership to improve profitability, productivity, working capital, and cash flow.
  • Provide financial leadership for manufacturing strategy, footprint optimization, capacity planning, make-versus-buy decisions, and network optimization.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with plant managers, regional operations leaders, and executive stakeholders.
  • Lead the integration of manufacturing finance activities for future acquisitions.

Financial Planning & Performance Management

  • Lead the annual operating plan, budgeting, forecasting, and long-range strategic planning processes for global manufacturing.
  • Develop financial models, scenarios, and business cases to support strategic and operational decisions.
  • Analyze actual performance versus budget, forecast, and prior year, identifying key drivers and corrective actions.
  • Establish and monitor manufacturing KPIs, including conversion cost, labor productivity, material efficiency, overhead absorption, inventory, scrap, yield, OEE, and manufacturing variance.
  • Provide clear, actionable financial insights to senior leadership and the executive team.

Cost Management & Operational Excellence

  • Drive global cost reduction and productivity initiatives in partnership with Operations and Supply Chain.
  • Lead standard cost, variance analysis, manufacturing cost accounting, and cost-of-goods management.
  • Identify opportunities to improve labor productivity, sourcing, manufacturing efficiency, capacity utilization, and fixed-cost leverage.
  • Support Lean, Six Sigma, continuous improvement, and operational excellence programs with rigorous financial measurement.
  • Ensure savings initiatives are appropriately quantified, tracked, validated, and reflected in financial results.

Capital & Investment Management

  • Lead financial evaluation and governance of capital investments across the manufacturing network.
  • Develop business cases and ROI analyses for new equipment, automation, capacity expansion, technology, and facility investments. Others on the team will develop, this person will provide oversight.
  • Prioritize capital allocation based on strategic value, financial returns, capacity requirements, and risk.
  • Monitor project performance against approved business cases and investment commitments.

Working Capital & Cash Flow

  • Partner with Supply Chain leadership team to optimize inventory, working capital, and cash conversion.
  • Establish targets and accountability for raw materials, work-in-process, finished goods, and excess/obsolete inventory.
  • Identify opportunities to improve cash flow without compromising customer service or operational resilience.

Global Finance Transformation

  • Standardize and improve financial processes, reporting, controls, and performance-management systems across global manufacturing sites.
  • Leverage ERP, analytics, automation, and business intelligence tools to improve visibility and decision-making.
  • Build scalable reporting and dashboards that provide real-time insight into operational and financial performance.
  • Lead finance transformation initiatives and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Leadership & Talent Development

  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing global manufacturing finance organization.
  • Establish clear roles, accountability, performance expectations, and career development plans.
  • Develop finance talent capable of operating as strategic business partners rather than transactional support.
  • Promote collaboration and best-practice sharing across regions and manufacturing sites.
  • Foster a culture of integrity, accountability, continuous improvement, and business ownership.

Governance, Controls & Compliance

  • Ensure appropriate financial controls, policies, and governance across global manufacturing operations.
  • Partner with Corporate Finance, Business Unit Finance, Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Internal Audit, and external auditors as required.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and applicable local regulations.
  • Identify and proactively manage financial and operational risks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field.
  • MBA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent advanced qualification preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive finance experience, with significant experience supporting manufacturing operations.
  • Demonstrated experience leading finance teams in a global, multi-site manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing finance, cost accounting, standard costing, variance analysis, inventory, and operational KPIs.
  • Proven experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, capital planning, and strategic decision support.
  • Experience leading cost-reduction, productivity, and operational improvement initiatives.
  • Strong ERP and financial systems experience; SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms preferred.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
