The posting

The Senior Coordinator – Finance & Treasury will be responsible for managing day-to-day treasury operations primarily relating to Bank Guarantees (BGs) and Fixed Deposits (FDs). The role will ensure timely processing, accurate accounting in SAP, effective utilization and monitoring of banking limits, maintenance of appropriate trackers and documentation, and proactive follow-up for closure of expired Bank Guarantees.

The position requires strong coordination with internal finance and commercial teams, banks and other stakeholders to ensure treasury transactions are completed accurately and on time.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Bank Guarantee Management

  • Handle the end-to-end Bank Guarantee process, including receipt of requests, processing with banks, issuance, amendments, extensions and closure/cancellation. Maintain an accurate and updated BG Tracker, covering BGs requested, under process, issued, amended, expired and closed. Ensure BG-related bank charges are recorded accurately and timely in SAP. Monitor available and utilized Bank Guarantee limits and highlight potential shortfalls to the Finance/Treasury team. Proactively follow up for closure/cancellation of expired BGs so that blocked banking limits can be released. Send fortnightly reminders for BGs already expired or due for expiry within the next three months and coordinate for collection/return of original BGs from customers. Prepare a monthly estimate of upcoming BG requirements based on new Purchase Order/contract terms and inputs from relevant teams. Maintain appropriate BG documentation and supporting records for accounting, audit and internal control purposes.

2. Fixed Deposit Management

  • Handle the end-to-end operational process for Fixed Deposits based on investment decisions/recommendations provided by the Finance team. Coordinate with banks for placement, renewal and maturity of Fixed Deposits. Maintain an updated FD Tracker containing deposit amount, bank, interest rate, maturity date, accrued/received interest and TDS details. Ensure timely and accurate accounting of Fixed Deposits and FD interest in SAP. Monitor FD maturity dates and provide advance intimation to the Finance/Treasury team for necessary action.

3. TDS & Accounting Reconciliation

  • Verify TDS deducted by banks on interest income against Form 26AS. Ensure appropriate TDS receivable accounting entries are recorded in SAP. Follow up on discrepancies between bank records, SAP and Form 26AS and coordinate their timely resolution. Support periodic reconciliation of BG charges, FDs, FD interest and related treasury accounts.

4. MIS, Controls & Audit Support

  • Maintain complete and accurate supporting documentation for BGs, FDs, bank charges and related transactions. Prepare periodic BG/FD status reports for Finance management. Provide information and supporting documents required for statutory/internal audits. Ensure adherence to applicable Delegation of Authority, treasury controls and maker-checker requirements. Identify pending items and exceptions and escalate them to the appropriate Finance team member in a timely manner.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Technical

  • Hands-on experience in Bank Guarantee processing Understanding of Fixed Deposits and basic treasury operations Working knowledge of bank charges, interest calculations and TDS Practical experience of SAP Finance Good working knowledge of MS Excel, including reconciliation and tracker management Understanding of accounting entries relating to BG charges, FDs, interest income and TDS Basic understanding of Form 26AS

Behavioral

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy Good follow-up and coordination skills Ability to independently track multiple transactions and deadlines Strong documentation and record-keeping discipline Good communication skills for coordination with banks and internal stakeholders Ability to identify exceptions and escalate issues proactively

Candidate Profile

  • Qualification: B.Com / M.Com / MBA Finance or equivalent. Experience: 4–6 years of relevant experience in Finance/Treasury operations. Prior hands-on experience in Bank Guarantees, banking operations and Fixed Deposits is strongly preferred. Experience working in an SAP environment is preferred. Manufacturing/engineering industry experience would be an advantage.
