The posting

Do you like working with different project teams in a fast-paced environment? Are you interested in joining an organization focused on making a positive impact? If so, we’d like to talk with you about growing with us.

Build your future at EnSafe.

At EnSafe, you’ll tackle some of the most complex environmental, engineering, and compliance challenges facing today’s built and natural environments. Our work helps clients manage risk, protect people and communities, and move projects forward safely and responsibly. In the process, you’ll collaborate with highly skilled colleagues who value technical excellence, mentorship, and long-term client partnerships.

As an employee-owned firm, EnSafe offers a place where experienced professionals can shape strategy, grow teams, and make a lasting impact—while continuing to develop their own careers.

The Opportunity

EnSafe is seeking a Client Director of Environmental Services to join our growing environmental consulting practice. This role is designed for a senior-level professional who combines deep technical expertise with strong private-sector client leadership and business development capability, particularly with industrial, commercial, and corporate clients. You will partner with multidisciplinary teams, lead complex projects, and play a key role in expanding EnSafe’s presence across priority markets and service lines.

This is a full-time position that may be based in any existing EnSafe office location, driving growth across EnSafe’s full suite of environmental, engineering, and compliance services for private-sector clients. Additionally, for the right candidate with established private-sector client relationships and the ability to attract and develop staff, this role offers the opportunity to help launch and grow a new EnSafe office location.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Serve as a senior leader driving profitable growth within EnSafe’s private-sector environmental consulting practice.
  • Develop new client relationships while strengthening long-standing partnerships with industrial, commercial, and corporate clients.
  • Personally engage in the pursuit and delivery of strategic consulting work for private-sector organizations.
  • Lead client relationships as Client and Project Manager or primary client contact for key private-client engagements.
  • Direct and oversee the successful execution of projects, ensuring technical quality, safety, schedule, and financial performance.
  • Apply advanced technical expertise to support client decision-making and project outcomes.
  • Navigate local, state, and federal regulatory frameworks as they relate to private-sector compliance and permitting.
  • Mentor and develop staff through coaching, technical guidance, and a collaborative, “learn-by-doing” culture.
  • Collaborate closely with Principals, Practice Leaders, and Operations leaders across EnSafe.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, geology, engineering (civil, chemical, mechanical, or related discipline), or a closely related field.
  • Professional licensure (PE, PG, or equivalent), as applicable.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in environmental consulting or a related professional services environment.
  • Demonstrated success in client development, including repeat business and trusted advisor relationships, primarily with private-sector clients.
  • Proven track record of winning, leading, and delivering large, complex, or strategic projects for industrial, commercial, or corporate clients.
  • Strong understanding of environmental regulations impacting private-sector operations.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and strategic thinking skills.

Why Join EnSafe?

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
