Job Description

The Supply Chain Lead is responsible for driving sourcing strategies that reduce costs, optimize supplier relationships, and enhance supply chain resilience. This role plays a key part in shaping the manufacturing supply strategy, improving lead times, improving inventory turns, and ensuring supplier adherence to quality and compliance standards in support of EnviroLogix Operations and the EnviroLogix business. The ideal candidate will be a proactive project manager and strategic thinker who partners cross-functionally to align sourcing decisions with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Supplier Relations & Quality

  • Lead cost reduction initiatives through supplier negotiations, component re-sourcing, and value engineering.
  • Analyze spend data to identify savings opportunities and drive total cost of ownership improvements.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and service agreements in partnership with Accounts Payable and Finance teams.
  • Work with finance and operations leaders to understand targets for inventory turns and create action plans to achieve target monthly inventory turns.
  • Hold suppliers accountable to quality, delivery, and compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Regulatory teams to ensure supplier qualification and ongoing performance monitoring.
  • Lead supplier business reviews and corrective action plans when needed.
  • Evaluate and optimize sourcing strategies to reduce lead times and increase supply chain robustness.
  • Develop contingency plans and alternative sourcing options to mitigate supply disruptions and market volatility.
  • Monitor market trends and supplier capacity to proactively adjust sourcing strategies.
  • Model financial impacts of sourcing related changes like price increases, tariffs, and freight costs and alternative options. Use this financial analysis as part of your recommendations to the Director, Operations and EnviroLogix General Manager.
  • Operate autonomously within guidance provided by the Director, Operations or EnviroLogix General Manager to define and implement a sourcing strategy and more broadly to achieve the supply chain and financial goals and objectives of EnviroLogix.

Inventory Management

  • Oversee inventory management for all sites, Portland, St Charles, Brazil and China, including general ownership, control, and management activities.
  • Partner with Value Stream Supervisors to establish and maintain the cycle count process, root cause analysis for discrepancies and ensure accurate inventory records.
  • Monitor inventory approaching expiration and identify opportunities to consume or repurpose materials within production.
  • Manage excess and obsolete (E&O) inventory in partnership with the Production team, including determining whether expired or expiring materials can be consumed on shop orders or should be processed as E&O in IFS.
  • Prepare and maintain operational reporting, including the weekly Operations Financial Scorecard.
  • Calculate and provide monthly inventory projection with finance.
  • Develop annual inventory projections for the annual budget process.
  • Lead long-term inventory reduction problem-solving initiatives, coordinating cross-functional teams to drive both short- and long-term actions and achieve sustained inventory reduction across the organization.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Continuous Improvement

  • Partner with Manufacturing, R&D, and Planning teams to align sourcing with production and product development needs.
  • Work with Accounts Receivable and Finance to negotiate favorable payment terms and ensure alignment with cash flow strategies.
  • Support product transfers, scale-ups, and new product introductions with strategic sourcing input.
  • Maintain accurate supplier and sourcing data in ERP systems, including lead times, to ensure proper material flow.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across sourcing and supply chain processes.
  • Develop and track KPIs related to cost savings, lead time reduction, inventory turns and supplier performance.
  • Other responsibilities driven by business need.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field and/or 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain operations.
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills with a track record of cost savings and supplier management.
  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (e.g., diagnostics, biotech, pharma) preferred.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience sourcing scientific components, reagents, and/or lab services.
  • Familiarity with GMP, ISO, or other quality standards.
  • Certification in supply chain or procurement (e.g., CPSM, APICS).
  • Certification or experience in project management (e.g., Lean Six Sigma).

The anticipated hiring range for this position is: $80,000 - $100,000 annually. Salary is determined in good faith based on several factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, requirements of the position, internal equity, and alignment with market data.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
