Job Description
This is a permanent, hybrid role based at our London Stratford office, with an expectation of spending at least two days per week in the office.
As a Senior Data Privacy Specialist, you'll independently lead complex privacy operations and help embed effective privacy practices across our global business. Combining hands-on delivery with senior-level guidance, you'll take ownership of privacy processes and workstreams from initial scoping through to implementation and resolution.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Data Privacy Operations, you'll join a growing team responsible for strengthening Entain's operational privacy framework. You'll partner with colleagues across Privacy Legal, Data Governance, Technology, Platform Engineering and our international business teams, ensuring privacy requirements are understood and incorporated into projects, systems and wider business change.
This new position offers a high level of autonomy and the opportunity to shape how privacy is delivered across a complex, data-rich and regulated organisation. Alongside leading operational activity, you'll have the scope to improve processes, influence senior stakeholders and help develop the capability of the wider team.
Ready to handle complex privacy challenges and help shape how privacy is embedded across a global organisation?
You Will:
- Own complex privacy operational processes and workstreams from beginning to end, identifying issues, managing dependencies and delivering effective outcomes.
- Partner with business and technology teams on projects, privacy risk assessments and supplier reviews, translating legal and policy requirements into practical, commercially workable solutions.
- Lead data mapping and the development and maintenance of Records of Processing Activities, working with process owners to improve accuracy, completeness and governance.
- Lead or quality-assure Data Protection Impact Assessments, advising stakeholders on privacy risks, proportionate controls, residual risk and escalation requirements.
- Provide senior-level support across privacy operations, including data subject rights requests, data retention, personal data incidents, assurance activity and privacy tooling.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, reporting and automation, helping the team deliver an efficient and scalable privacy service.
- Coach and provide technical guidance to colleagues, sharing knowledge and supporting consistent, high-quality delivery across the team.
Qualifications
You Have:
- Strong, hands-on experience in data privacy operations, with evidence of independently owning complex processes, projects or workstreams from scoping through to implementation and resolution.
- Practical knowledge of UK and EU data protection requirements, including the UK GDPR, EU GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
- Experience of privacy risk assessments, data mapping, RoPA management, DPIAs, privacy by design or third-party privacy reviews.
- The ability to understand systems and data flows and translate complex legal, technical and policy requirements into clear operational actions.
- Experience working with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including providing advice and constructive challenge at mid-to-senior management level.
- Strong project-management, requirements-gathering and prioritisation skills.
- Experience using privacy management, case-management, workflow or reporting tools. Experience with OneTrust would be advantageous but is not essential.
- A relevant professional privacy qualification, such as CIPP/E, CIPM or CIPT, would be desirable. AIGP certification would be an additional advantage.
