The role
You will be the owner of the HR function at Enview.ai . This is a hands-on generalist role in a growing company: you will build processes where none exist and execute them yourself.
Recruitment comes first in this role: Enview.ai hires continuously across field, sales and software teams, and we need someone who can personally source and close people, not just run the process.
Reporting to the Founder, you will run recruitment, payroll inputs, statutory compliance, employee relations and HR operations end to end for a workforce deployed across India.
Location: Whitefield, Bengaluru (on-site) · Type: Full-time · Reports to: Founder
Key responsibilities
Recruitment & onboarding
- Own hiring end to end: field technicians, pre-sales and network engineers, sales, software engineers and data-labeling/annotation staff across India - sourcing, screening, interviews, offers and closures.
- Build pipelines for each talent pool: job portals, referrals and institute tie-ups for ITI/diploma technicians and CCTV/network engineers; LinkedIn, campus and referral channels for software, data-labeling and sales roles.
- Run background and police verification for staff deployed at sensitive customer sites (defence, banking, judiciary, atomic energy) and keep verification records audit-ready for tenders.
- Onboard new joiners: documentation, ESI/PF enrolment, induction, tools and safety briefing for field staff.
- Track hiring metrics- time-to-hire, offer acceptance, source effectiveness, joining ratios- and give hiring managers clear, timely updates on every open role.
Payroll, compliance & HR administration
- Own monthly payroll inputs- attendance, leave, overtime, travel and site allowances.
- Manage statutory compliance with our external partners- EPF, ESI, Professional Tax, Gratuity, Karnataka S&E Act, CLRA — keeping challans, registers and returns accurate and on time.
- Maintain compliance documentation (challans, registers, returns) required for government and PSU tender submissions.
- Maintain employee records, contracts, offer and relieving letters in the HRMS.
- Build SOPs, checklists and templates so routine HR work runs consistently through the team.
- Maintain a simple HR dashboard- headcount, open roles, attrition, probation status. Update leadership regularly on staffing risks and compliance deadlines.
Performance, training & safety
- Run the appraisal cycle- scheduling, documentation, follow-through. Support managers on reviews and feedback.
- Coordinate technical certification and OEM training (e.g., CCTV, networking, cybersecurity partners) and track skill development.
- Monitor site-safety compliance for field staff: PPE, work-at-height norms, incident reporting.
- Run probation reviews and confirmations; conduct exit interviews and analyse attrition patterns to improve retention.
Employee relations & engagement
- Be the first point of contact for office and field employees on policies, pay queries and grievances; resolve issues quickly and fairly.
- Keep field staff connected: regular check-ins with site-deployed engineers, clear escalation paths, timely reimbursements.
- Run engagement initiatives, celebrations and recognition suited to a small, distributed team.
What we're looking for
- 4–6 years of HR experience with recruitment at its core, including at least a year running recruitment independently.
- A track record of personally sourcing and closing difficult roles, not just coordinating the process; experience in a system integrator, engineering services or similar field-workforce company strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of Indian labour law and statutory compliance: EPF, ESI, PT, Gratuity, POSH, Karnataka S&E Act; exposure to compliance paperwork for government/PSU tenders is a big plus.
- Comfortable with an HRMS/payroll tool (e.g., Keka, greytHR, Zoho People) and an ATS; strong Excel.
- High integrity with confidential information; organized, proactive, and comfortable leading a two-person team while staying hands-on yourself.
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA/PGDM in HR preferred.
Compensation & benefits
- Provident Fund and statutory benefits (ESI/gratuity as applicable)
- Paid time off and paid sick leave
- Health insurance
- A role with real ownership: you build the HR function, directly with the founder
