The posting

Envoy Global is a proven innovator in the global immigration space. Our mission combines our industry-leading tech platform with holistic service to streamline, simplify and expedite the immigration process for employers and individuals.

We are seeking a proactive, commercially aware and client-focused Immigration Consultant to join our team at the IBN office in Johannesburg. The role is responsible for managing corporate (and private) immigration matters from initial assessment through to filing, monitoring and closure, with a primary focus on South Africa and potential exposure to other African jurisdictions.

The successful candidate will serve as a trusted point of contact for corporate clients and assignees, translate complex immigration requirements into clear practical guidance, and deliver accurate, compliant and timely case outcomes.

As our Immigration Consultant , you will be required to:

  • Conduct initial case assessments and advise corporate clients and foreign nationals on suitable immigration pathways, eligibility, documentary requirements, process steps, expected dependencies and material risks.
  • Manage an assigned portfolio of South African immigration matters and, where required, coordinate matters across other African jurisdictions from initiation to closure.
  • Prepare, review and quality-check visa, permit, waiver, exemption, residency and related applications to ensure completeness, consistency and compliance before submission.
  • Draft client-facing correspondence, supporting letters, checklists, case strategies and application documents in clear, accurate and professional language.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, assignees, internal stakeholders and third-party providers, setting realistic expectations and providing timely status updates.
  • Liaise with relevant authorities, application centers, professional bodies, qualification-verification bodies, consular posts and service providers to clarify requirements and progress matters.
  • Identify case risks, missing information, delays and potential non-compliance early; escalate material issues with a recommended course of action.
  • Monitor expiry dates, validity periods, submission deadlines and other critical milestones, and take proactive steps to avoid service or compliance failures.
  • Maintain complete and accurate case records, notes, documents, status updates and billing inputs in the case-management system and other approved internal systems.
  • Apply internal standard operating procedures, quality-control requirements, data-protection standards and client-specific instructions consistently.
  • Support client reporting, audits, trend analysis and data-quality initiatives by ensuring reliable case information and contributing informed operational input.
  • Participate in client calls, internal case reviews, knowledge sharing and training; contribute to process improvement and a collaborative, high-performance culture.

To apply for this role, you should possess the following skills, experience and qualifications:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification. A law degree, legal studies qualification or equivalent is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated immigration casework experience, ideally involving South Africa and/or other African jurisdictions
  • Experience advising corporate clients, employees or assignees in a professional-services environment.
  • Strong written and verbal English, with the ability to explain complex requirements clearly and draft high-quality professional correspondence.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical ability and judgement, including the confidence to identify inconsistencies and escalate risk.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple active matters, competing priorities and deadline-driven work without loss of accuracy or service quality.
  • Strong ownership, follow-through and ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams, together with confidence using case-management systems and digital client records.
  • Commitment to confidentiality, ethical conduct, regulatory compliance and the careful handling of personal information.
  • Working knowledge of South African immigration legislation, Department of Home Affairs processes, VFS Global procedures, SAQA and relevant professional-body processes.
  • Exposure to multi-country African immigration process's, corporate mobility, relocation or expatriate services. (Preferred)
  • Additional language capability and experience working with international stakeholders across cultures and time zones. (Preferred)

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
