Position Overview

The Deployment Engineer for AV Builds supports the planning, coordination, delivery and maintenance of audio-visual systems, alongside hands-on field engineering services. This position coordinates deployment activities and provides pre-commissioning and commissioning support, ensuring AV systems are delivered to agreed timelines and installed, configured, and validated to meet client performance standards. This engineer will also provide an additional layer of maintenance and break/fix support for collaboration spaces - including complex event venues and multipurpose rooms – to ensure operational continuity and rapid issue resolution.

Responsibilities also include coordinating refresh and remediation projects, working under the guidance of the AV Builds Engineering team to track progress, manage dependencies and maintain consistency across AV environments.

Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination & Deployment Support

  • Coordinate deployment activities for AV system refresh and remediation projects, tracking milestones and actions through to completion.
  • Coordinate schedules, resources and vendors under the direction of the AV Builds Engineering team, communicating progress, risks and dependencies to stakeholders.
  • Maintain project documentation, including BOMs, QC Checklists, action trackers and sign-off forms as required.
  • Ensure consistency with client standards and best practices.

Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning Field Engineering Services

  • Conduct system-level validation of AV components, including DSP programming, control system configuration, and network integration.
  • Execute commissioning procedures to verify functionality, performance, and interoperability across AV platforms.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during the commissioning phases.
  • Document commissioning results, configuration settings, and punch list items as appropriate.
  • Verify AV systems meet design intent and client expectations prior to handoff.

Inventory & Logistics Management

  • Maintain accurate records of AV equipment, including serial numbers, locations, and operational status.
  • Track any reused equipment, ensuring it is properly documented and attributed to the correct project.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, including RMAs and returns, ensuring accuracy and timely execution.
  • Facilitate site access and logistics for vendors and internal teams.

Process Improvement & Best Practices

  • Support continuous evaluation and improvement of commissioning, workflows, deployment processes, tools, and documentation standards.
  • Ensure consistency and operational efficiency by leveraging internal tools, templates, and best practices (e.g., inventory trackers, commissioning checklists).

Maintenance and Break/Fix Support

  • Work closely with the Operations team responsible for providing first and second level support.
  • Manage tickets and escalations for incoming or ongoing incidents, performing diagnostics and remote or on-site troubleshooting.
  • Escalate unresolved issues in accordance with client procedures.
  • Assist with any root cause analysis procedures.
  • Participate in problem management activities.
  • Support approved changes and upgrades to deployed systems, as required.

Qualifications

  • 5-8 years of experience with AV deployment, field engineering, commissioning, or systems integration and maintenance, including project coordination responsibilities.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills and familiarity with AV control systems, DSPs, and signal routing.
  • Strong project coordination, communication and organisational abilities, including scheduling, stakeholder updates and tracking actions to completion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • AVIXA CTS Certification.
  • Q-Sys Certification

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
