The posting

🚀 Be part of a movement to change the way Europe pays

In today’s digital Europe, payments still feel too complicated. Random delays, confusing rules, extra apps and accounts make it harder than it should be to pay and get paid.

The European Payments Initiative is changing that with Wero, a proudly European digital wallet to make payments easier, clearer and more secure. Online, in store, at home and across borders, with your money and data protected under European laws and regulations.

Wero is live in Belgium, France and Germany and launching very soon in Luxembourg and the Netherlands. Backed by 16 major banks and the two largest European acquirers, we’re building a brand new, proudly European payment system. Why not join us?

🔎 What's in it for you

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Product Manager to lead a key product scope within the Wero mobile application, defining and driving a compelling product vision and strategic roadmap. You will play a central role in shaping the growth and user experience of the app, focusing on how users onboard, engage, and interact with the product on a daily basis, with a strong emphasis on product performance, conversion and user insights, translating data and feedback into impactful product decisions aligned with company objectives.

🐝 About the team

You will be part of a Pan-European Product and Engineering team that operates in an Agile environment. You’ll work closely, and fully remotely, with experts in Product Management, Product Design, Software Engineers, QA and DevOps from Germany, France, the Netherlands, and other European locations.

💥 Your impact

Product Leadership, Strategy & Vision:

  • Set and communicate a compelling product vision aligned with company objectives
  • Define and manage an overarching strategic roadmap for our initiative, including key milestones, features, and product enhancements
  • Own and drive key product growth topics such as onboarding, user activation, engagement and retention within the mobile app.
  • Prioritize features and product improvements based on user behavior, data insights, and business impact, with a strong focus on improving user experience, engagement and conversion.
  • Stay at the forefront of industry trends, competitor analysis, and user feedback through data-driven research to optimize and develop product performance
  • Continuously report to the Head of Product about the current status of the product development cycle

Internal and External Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, designers, and other teams to translate insights into actionable development tasks
  • Collaborate closely with EPI member banks as key stakeholders, balancing product vision with external constraints and alignment needs.
  • Make trade-offs between technical constraints and product features, ensuring alignment between engineering and product vision
  • Effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams such as marketing, sales, and customer support
  • Represent EPI and its interests towards internal and external stakeholders

🕵🏻‍♀️ To succeed, you should meet at least 70% of these requirements

  • +7 years of experience in product management, ideally in a fintech or in the payment industry
  • Experience in developing and launching a consumer mobile app (iOS/Android) and managing, optimising app presence and performance across various app stores
  • Customer-centric mindset and a passion for delivering outstanding user experiences
  • Demonstrated experience with Agile methodologies and managing iterative development cycles to support Product Managers with their concrete planning and execution
  • Outstanding communication and presentations skills to effectively convey information to executives and banks.
  • Fluent in English (CEFR C1 or C2) is mandatory; French, German, Dutch, or any additional European languages is a plus
  • Thrive in a fully remote, multicultural environment
  • Knowledge of the payment industry, including regulatory requirements and security standards, is a plus

🪜 If this looks like you, the recruitment steps are:

  1. A first call with one of our recruiters
  2. A case study
  3. A restitution and interview with a Product Manager and Engineering Manager
  4. A final interview with our Head of Product
  5. Hopefully, an offer you can’t refuse

⛔ Turn back if …

  • You don’t have experience in launching mobile apps
  • You don’t have experience in launching new projects with many stakeholders (external and internal)

🎁 What we can offer

  • Remote-first culture with quarterly and annual all-staff in-person meetups to keep teams connected and collaborative
  • Possibility to work from another EU country for up to 3 months per year
  • Competitive compensation package, featuring salary, performance-based bonus, and a thoughtfully designed, high-quality benefits program
  • The opportunity to be part of a multicultural European company
  • Learning & development budget: €5,000 training budget per year

Otherwise, apply!

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
