Here is how the Midstream Services Intern will impact our business:

The Midstream Services Intern will support EQT’s Midstream organization in the continued development of a modern, data-driven operating platform. The intern will gain hands-on experience working across Midstream operations, enterprise systems, data and analytics, asset management, financial reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The position will work closely with Midstream Services and cross-functional partners across Operations, Engineering & Construction, Finance, Information Technology/Digital, and other business functions. The internship is designed to provide exposure to both the operational and technology sides of the Midstream business while giving the intern ownership of meaningful projects and deliverables.

Midstream Services is focused on strengthening enterprise systems and asset management, expanding business intelligence and enterprise integrations, improving data quality and governance, and increasing automation and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data & Analytics: Assist with analyzing operational, maintenance, financial, and project data to identify trends, exceptions, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Insights & Reporting: Support development and enhancement of dashboards, KPIs, scorecards, and reporting using tools such as Power BI, Databricks, and Salesforce. Midstream Services currently supports executive dashboards, operational and financial reporting, and integrations across multiple enterprise platforms.
  • Enterprise Systems: Gain exposure to systems supporting Midstream operations, including Maximo, Salesforce, GIS, SCADA, and related applications. Support data quality, standardization, and system improvement initiatives.
  • Asset Management & Reliability: Assist with initiatives involving equipment hierarchy, preventive maintenance, work management, asset lifecycle management, and reliability. Midstream's roadmap includes EAM master-data governance and continued maturation of reliability and lifecycle-management processes.
  • Budget & Business Support: Assist with CAPEX and O&M reporting, forecasting, variance analysis, project tracking, and other financial or business-performance activities.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to simplify processes, automate manual activities, improve data quality, and enhance reporting or workflows.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Participate in meetings and working sessions with Operations, Engineering, Finance, Digital/IT, and other Midstream teams.
  • Project Ownership: Own one or more defined summer projects from initial assessment through recommendations and final presentation.
  • Final Presentation: Present internship accomplishments, findings, and recommendations to Midstream Services leadership at the conclusion of the internship.

Potential Summer Projects

Depending on business priorities in Summer 2027, assignments could include asset and maintenance data analysis, Maximo/EAM improvements, operational KPI development, Power BI/INSIGHTS enhancements, data-quality assessments, process automation, CAPEX/O&M analytics, reliability benchmarking, or evaluating emerging technologies such as AI and advanced analytics.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Data Analytics/Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, Business, Supply Chain, Energy Management, or a related discipline.
  • Expected graduation date of December 2027 or later preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Interest in energy, natural gas, Midstream operations, technology, data analytics, or asset management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Power BI, SQL, Python, Databricks, Salesforce, or similar tools is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to organize and analyze data and communicate findings clearly.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multiple teams.
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn unfamiliar systems, technologies, and business processes.

What the Intern Will Gain

This internship provides exposure to the intersection of energy operations, engineering, technology, data, finance, and asset management. The intern will have the opportunity to work with real Midstream business challenges, interact with leaders and subject-matter experts, visit operating facilities where appropriate, and see how technology and data are being used to modernize a large-scale natural gas Midstream organization.

Selected incumbent will be placed into the position that best suits their abilities and experience level.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
