At EquipmentShare, we’re not just filling a role — we’re assembling the best team on the planet to build something that’s never been built before. We’re on a mission to transform an industry that’s been stuck in the past by empowering contractors and communities through innovative technology, real-time support, and a team that truly cares.

We’re hiring a Credit Specialist at our Corporate Headquarters in Columbia, MO and we’re looking for someone who’s ready to grow with us, bring energy and drive to their work, and help us build the future of construction.

The Credit Specialist will oversee the entire credit review and approval process for prospective customers across EquipmentShare’s rental, sales, and Forge & Build (materials) business lines. They will approve, make recommendations, and make the final lending decision for customers. They will conduct comprehensive credit analyses and gather, review, analyze, and record various documents and information to thoroughly evaluate a customer’s credit.

Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM Central Time. The credit team operates 6:00 AM – 7:00 PM Central Time, Monday–Friday. Participate in the credit team’s on-call rotation, providing coverage for one weekend every eight weeks.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Review credit applications for all EquipmentShare customers across the rental, sales, and Forge & Build (materials) business lines.
  • Retain and organize all credit review documentation, including the scorecards used to determine customer credit limits, to ensure records are complete, accurate and readily accessible for compliance purposes.
  • Oversee the verification process for all renters, including verifying name and other pertinent information with the state.
  • Champion the credit report pull process, including running customer credit through third-party credit verification systems and ensuring reports are successfully pulled, documented and analyzed.
  • Review business credit reports from third-party credit vendors (Dun & Bradstreet, Creditsafe, and Equifax) and determine the need for a Personal Guarantor.
  • Communicate, collaborate and work closely with the Credit Manager on a daily basis to ensure all credit reports are sound and thorough reviews are completed.
  • Use various tools and programs to complete the credit review process, such as Retool, JotForm, Dun & Bradstreet, Creditsafe, Equifax, and ES Admin.
  • Communicate and collaborate regularly with branch staff, including General Managers (GMs), Territory Account Managers (TAMs), and District Sales Managers (DSMs), to share credit decisions and limits, resolve questions, and support timely customer onboarding.
  • Answer and respond to incoming phone calls from branch staff, including GMs, TAMs, and DSMs, providing timely, accurate and professional support on credit status, limits and onboarding questions.
  • Onboard customers into the appropriate systems for their line of business, including ES Admin and Bistrack (Forge & Build).
  • Identify, evaluate and determine the correct next steps following potential credit quality issues in order to minimize risk and loss to the company.
  • Perform other tasks and projects as assigned by management.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
