Role Overview

ERM Korea’s Sustainable Operations team supports Multinational Corporations (MNCs) operating in Korea in understanding and complying with Korean Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) regulatory requirements and in operating their facilities safely and in an environmentally responsible manner.

The team also supports Korean companies expanding and operating internationally by providing strategic EHS regulatory, permitting, compliance, and advisory services. Where detailed knowledge of local regulations is required, the relevant technical work is performed by ERM’s in-country teams, while the Korea team serves as a key coordinator and interface between Korean clients and ERM’s global network.

This role therefore requires a strong understanding of EHS regulatory frameworks and processes, together with effective project management and communication skills, to coordinate multidisciplinary and cross-border teams, align project scope and expectations, and facilitate effective communication between clients and ERM teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Delivery

  • Deliver EHS assessments and compliance audits for Korean clients and Multinational Corporations (MNCs) operating in Korea.
  • Provide EHS regulatory, permitting, and compliance advisory support for clients’ facilities and operations in Korea and overseas, working with relevant ERM in-country teams where local regulatory expertise is required.
  • Support clients in the development, implementation, and improvement of EHS management systems.
  • Prepare and contribute to high-quality project deliverables, including assessment and audit reports, regulatory reviews, compliance evaluations, and client presentations.
  • Support Partners and Project Managers in developing proposals, scopes of work, schedules, and fee estimates for EHS consulting projects.

2. Project Coordination and Client Interface

  • Act as a key coordination point between Korean clients and ERM overseas offices responsible for providing in-country regulatory and technical expertise.
  • Coordinate project activities across multiple ERM offices, including schedule alignment, scope management, deliverable coordination, and internal communication.
  • Facilitate communication between clients and technical teams to ensure that regulatory and technical requirements are clearly understood and appropriately addressed.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively identify and communicate potential issues relating to scope, schedule, budget, deliverables, or client expectations.
  • Support effective client relationships through clear, timely, and professional communication throughout project delivery.

Required Qualifications

1. Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Chemical Engineering, Engineering, or another relevant discipline.

2. Experience & Technical Competencies

  • Approximately 5-8 years of relevant professional experience in EHS consulting, environmental consulting, facility EHS management, or a related field. Candidates with more extensive relevant experience may also be considered for a more senior position.
  • Demonstrated understanding of EHS regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements, with the ability to conduct or support EHS assessments and compliance audits.
  • Practical understanding of environmental and/or occupational health and safety requirements applicable to industrial and commercial facilities.
  • Experience in preparing technical reports, regulatory reviews, audit findings, and other client-facing deliverables.
  • Ability to manage defined project tasks or workstreams and coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.

3. Language & Communication Skills

  • Business-level English proficiency, sufficient to communicate effectively with ERM’s international teams, participate in meetings, review technical documents, and prepare professional correspondence and deliverables.
  • Strong Korean communication skills and the ability to communicate technical and regulatory matters clearly to clients.
  • Strong interpersonal and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, project managers, and technical specialists across different countries and cultures.

Preferred Attributes

  • Ability to understand and synthesize complex technical and regulatory information and communicate key requirements and implications clearly to clients.
  • Strong interest in EHS regulations, regulatory compliance, and international projects.
  • Experience working on projects involving overseas facilities or coordinating with international teams.
  • Familiarity with EHS management systems, compliance auditing, environmental permitting, or occupational health and safety requirements.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a project-based consulting environment.
  • Proactive, collaborative, and client-focused approach, with a strong commitment to quality and safe project delivery.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
