The opportunity
We are looking for an experienced AI Architect & Delivery Lead to lead the design and delivery of complex AI and Generative AI solutions for our clients.
The role combines AI solution architecture, technology delivery and client leadership. You will work with senior business and technology stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable AI solutions, provide architectural direction to multidisciplinary teams, and lead complex programmes from solution design through implementation and deployment.
At Senior Manager level, you will also play an important role in shaping client solutions, leading large engagements, developing teams and contributing to business development opportunities.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design of enterprise-scale AI, machine learning and Generative AI architectures, including LLM-based applications, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI agents and intelligent automation.
- Support the production of scalable and optimised AI or machine learning (ML) models.
- Focus on building algorithms for the extraction, transformation and loading of large volumes of real-time, unstructured data to deploy AI or ML solutions from theoretical data science models.
- Run experiments to test the performance of deployed models, and identifies and resolves bugs that arise in the process.
- Work in a team setting and apply knowledge in statistics, scripting and programming languages required by the firm.
- Work with the relevant software platforms in which the models are deployed.
- Define end-to-end solution architectures covering AI models, data platforms, APIs, applications, cloud infrastructure, integrations, security and operational requirements.
- Evaluate and recommend appropriate AI technologies, platforms, models and architectural approaches based on business and technical requirements.
- Provide architectural leadership and governance, reviewing and challenging solution designs developed by architects, engineers, vendors and delivery partners.
- Guide solutions from proof-of-concept through production deployment, ensuring scalability, reliability, security and maintainability.
- Embed Responsible AI, security, privacy, data governance and model governance considerations into solution designs and delivery.
- Lead end-to-end delivery of large and complex AI and data transformation programmes, potentially comprising multiple workstreams and multidisciplinary teams.
- Own engagement delivery across scope, schedule, resources, dependencies, risks, issues and overall quality.
- Translate strategic business objectives into actionable technology roadmaps, architecture decisions and delivery plans.
- Coordinate across AI/ML engineers, data engineers, cloud specialists, application developers, architects, business analysts and other delivery stakeholders.
- Identify delivery risks and technical dependencies early and drive appropriate mitigation and resolution.
- Establish appropriate programme and architecture governance to support successful delivery.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, providing guidance on AI strategy, architecture and implementation.
- Facilitate discussions with business and technology leaders to define AI use cases, requirements, priorities and target-state solutions.
- Communicate complex AI and technology concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Manage senior stakeholder expectations and provide clear visibility of programme progress, risks, decisions and outcomes.
- Build strong relationships across client, internal and partner organisations.
- Support the development of proposals, solution approaches, delivery models, estimates and presentations for AI transformation opportunities.
- Contribute to the development of reusable AI architecture patterns, methodologies, accelerators and delivery practices.
- Monitor emerging AI technologies and assess their applicability to enterprise and client use cases.
- Coach and develop architects, technical leads and delivery team members.
- Contribute to the growth of AI capabilities and communities within the broader consulting practice.
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or similar. MBA or other relevant postgraduate degree is advantageous, especially to underscore business management capabilities.
- Approximately 10 or more years of relevant technology, architecture, consulting or programme delivery experience, including significant leadership experience.
- Demonstrated experience designing or governing enterprise AI/ML or Generative AI solutions.
- Experience leading the delivery of complex, enterprise-scale technology programmes from solutioning through implementation.
- Experience working with senior business and technology stakeholders in complex organisations.
- Experience leading and developing multidisciplinary technology teams.
- Strong understanding of enterprise AI/ML and Generative AI architecture, including LLMs, RAG, AI agents, model integration and AI application patterns.
- Strong knowledge of cloud and AI platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Good understanding of data architecture, APIs, integration patterns, cloud-native architecture, security and enterprise application environments.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex technology programmes involving multiple technical teams and workstreams.
- Ability to provide architectural direction and challenge technical solutions without needing to personally develop every component.
- Strong programme delivery, risk management and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent senior stakeholder management, communication, facilitation and presentation skills.
- Strong consulting mindset with the ability to connect business requirements with technology solutions.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and work effectively across business, technology and vendor stakeholders.
