What to do:
- Design, implement and continuously improve our enterprise storage solutions and platform capabilities.
- Provide Level 3 technical expertise and support for DELL Block Storage, CISCO and Brocade SAN, NetApp NAS and Cloud Object Storage infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex incidents and problems, identifying and eliminating root causes rather than only addressing symptoms.
- Own the reliability, availability, performance and scalability of storage services and continuously improve them against defined SLAs and SLOs.
- Implement monitoring, alerting and observability to provide clear insight into the health, capacity, performance and utilization of storage services.
- Automate operational activities, provisioning and configuration using Terraform, Ansible, scripting or similar technologies.
- Develop standardized and self-service capabilities to reduce manual activities, improve consistency and provide a better experience for internal customers.
- Collaborate with database, virtualization, cloud, application and infrastructure teams to design and implement reliable storage solutions.
- Understand how storage services are consumed by platforms such as VMware vSphere, OpenShift and KVM, and ensure appropriate integration with these environments.
- Act as a technical advisor to the Product Owner, challenge existing solutions where appropriate, advocate for high-quality engineering standards, and drive informed technical decisions.
- Proactively evaluate the current platform, identify technical debt and opportunities for improvement, research emerging technologies, and recommend solutions that improve reliability, efficiency and scalability.
- Monitor capacity, utilization and system health, proactively identifying risks and implementing measures to prevent service degradation or capacity-related incidents.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning, resilience testing and recovery exercises for storage services.
- Define and maintain storage standards, best practices and reusable patterns.
- Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation, operational procedures and runbooks.
- Participate in an on-call support rotation and contribute to improving operational readiness and reducing recurring incidents.
- Contribute to SRE practices such as automation, observability, incident management, problem management, capacity planning and continuous improvement.
You check these boxes:
- 3+ years of active recent experience managing enterprise storage environments, ideally including DELL Block Storage, CISCO and Brocade SAN, NetApp NAS and Cloud Object Storage, or similar technologies.
- Strong understanding of enterprise storage concepts, including SAN, NAS, block and object storage, storage provisioning, replication, performance and capacity management.
- Hands-on recent experience troubleshooting complex storage and SAN environments.
- Good understanding of how storage integrates with virtualization and container platforms such as VMware vSphere, OpenShift and KVM.
- Understanding of backup, replication and disaster recovery concepts and how they integrate with enterprise storage platforms.
- Familiarity with hybrid infrastructure and cloud-based disaster recovery models.
- Active experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management; Terraform and/or Ansible is a strong advantage.
- Recent active experience with scripting or programming for automation is an advantage.
- Understanding of monitoring and observability concepts and experience working with monitoring or logging platforms.
- Understanding of SRE/DevOps principles and a willingness to apply them to storage infrastructure.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on root-cause analysis and long-term solutions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical teams and with internal customers.
- Proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility for the reliability of the platform.

- A competitive and performance-related salary dependent on your professional and personal qualifications is granted - we are obliged by law to quote the minimum wage of EUR 2.900,- gross per month for this full time position. But this is just a formality, we are more than happy to discuss your actual expectations.
