At eScribers we value professionalism, innovative thinking, and collaboration and this is what guides us in all aspects of our day-to-day operations.

Come be a part of our growth by joining our outstanding team of professionals!

The Opportunity

eScribers is looking for an AV & Technical Support Technician to help deliver dependable technology support for legal proceedings, meetings and hearing environments.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working with audiovisual equipment, computers and live technical systems. You will help ensure that clients, legal teams, reporters and remote participants can use the required technology confidently and without disruption.

The role combines equipment preparation, on-site setup, live support, fault finding and post-event checks.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will support the technical delivery of hearings, depositions, arbitrations and other professional proceedings.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Preparing laptops, microphones, cameras, displays and other technical equipment for upcoming assignments
  • Installing and connecting AV equipment at courts, hearing centres, offices and other client locations
  • Checking sound, video, internet connectivity and remote-participation systems before proceedings begin
  • Providing technical assistance to clients and participants during live sessions
  • Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, audio and connectivity problems
  • Supporting video calls, remote witnesses and hybrid proceedings
  • Assisting with digital recording and court-reporting technology
  • Making sure equipment is properly labelled, maintained and ready for future use
  • Liaising with internal operations teams about technical requirements for upcoming assignments
  • Recording faults, issues and equipment requirements clearly
  • Packing and returning equipment safely after assignments
  • Travelling to different London and UK locations when required

Technology You May Work With

Depending on the assignment, you may work with:

  • Professional microphones and audio equipment
  • Speakers and audio interfaces
  • Video conferencing platforms
  • Cameras and video displays
  • Laptops and presentation systems
  • Digital recording equipment
  • Network and internet connectivity equipment
  • Remote-hearing technology
  • Transcription and court-reporting systems

Training will be provided on eScribers-specific systems and workflows.

What We’re Looking For

You do not need to know every system from day one, but you should be comfortable learning new technology and solving problems.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have:

  • Experience with AV, IT support, live events, conferencing or technical operations
  • Good practical knowledge of computers and peripheral equipment
  • Confidence troubleshooting technical issues
  • A basic understanding of networking and connectivity
  • Strong communication skills
  • A professional and client-focused approach
  • Good organisation and attention to detail
  • The ability to prioritise when several issues need attention at once
  • Confidence working in live environments where reliability is important
  • A willingness to learn new equipment and software

Experience in legal services, courts, transcription, conferencing or event technology would be useful but is not essential.

Working Environment

This is not purely a desk-based technical support role.

You may spend time preparing equipment at an eScribers location, travelling to client sites, installing systems and supporting live proceedings.

Assignments can vary considerably, so flexibility is important. Some projects may require early starts, later finishes or occasional work outside standard office hours.

Why Join eScribers?

This role offers the opportunity to develop experience across AV, IT support and legal technology while working on a wide variety of professional assignments.

You will gain practical experience supporting live proceedings and working directly with technology that needs to perform reliably in real-world environments.

It could be a strong fit for someone from an AV, IT support, events or technical-services background who wants to move into the legal technology sector.

Offered salary will be around 31,000 GBP annually based on experience.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
