Data Architect – Job Description

Position: Data Architect

Employment: Contract-to-Hire (CTH)

Location: Remote (EST Hours)

Duration: 6 Months CTH

Visa: USC Only

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Data Architect to lead data architecture, governance, modeling, and analytics initiatives within a Snowflake environment. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Snowflake architecture and administration, enterprise data strategy, data security, and performance optimization.

This role will be responsible for designing scalable, secure, and high-performing data platforms while supporting enterprise-wide data management, analytics, and machine learning initiatives across multi-cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable data architecture solutions using Snowflake and multi-cloud data platforms.
  • Lead Snowflake architecture, administration, configuration, and optimization.
  • Develop and maintain enterprise data models, including conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
  • Establish and implement data governance frameworks, standards, and best practices.
  • Define data security strategies, access controls, and compliance best practices.
  • Optimize Snowflake performance, query execution, warehouse utilization, and resource consumption.
  • Design and manage Snowflake data-sharing solutions for secure data exchange.
  • Develop enterprise data strategies aligned with business and technology objectives.
  • Collaborate with data engineering, analytics, machine learning, and business teams.
  • Support data analytics and machine learning initiatives through reliable and well-structured data platforms.
  • Identify opportunities to improve data quality, scalability, and operational efficiency.
  • Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance to stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Senior-level experience in Data Architecture and enterprise data strategy.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake Architecture and Administration.
  • Expertise in data modeling, including enterprise and dimensional modeling.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, data security, and data management best practices.
  • Experience with data platform performance optimization and scalability.
  • Knowledge of machine learning and data analytics ecosystems.
  • Experience working with multi-cloud data platforms.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Snowflake Data Sharing capabilities.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise data architecture principles and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
