Overview

Join Esri’s Software Security and Privacy team and play a critical role in protecting the technology that powers how organizations around the world understand and use geographic information. As an Incident Response Product Security Engineer, you’ll sit at the intersection of software security, privacy, engineering, and product development. You'll help turn complex security challenges into meaningful improvements across Esri’s products and the ArcGIS platform.

This is an opportunity to make a visible impact in a highly collaborative, fast-moving environment where your technical perspective will help shape how Esri identifies, understands, and responds to emerging security and privacy risks. You’ll work alongside talented engineers, security professionals, product teams, and customers, bringing curiosity, sound technical judgment, and a continuous-improvement mindset to some of the most important challenges in software security.

If you enjoy digging into complex problems, connecting technical findings to real-world risk, and influencing how teams build more secure software, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference at global scale.

Responsibilities

  • Use FIRST PSIRT Framework to implement and advance the Incident Response Lifecycle
  • Validate, research, and translate identified security and privacy findings into concise issues
  • Effectively communicate the outcomes of vulnerability investigations
  • Facilitate red-teaming exercises to evaluate application security
  • Identify common patterns of vulnerability and privacy risk exposure
  • Effectively communicate and present software security and privacy risk metrics
  • Write and maintain SOPs, processes, best practices, and procedural documents
  • Collaborate with development teams and contribute to security best-practice technical papers, security advisories, and blogs

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience with CSIRT, CIRT, or PSIRT functions in an enterprise-scale environment
  • Solid grasp of FIRST, OWASP top 10, SANS Top 25, CVE, and other frameworks
  • Experience with BURP Suite or similar automated security testing tools
  • Deep knowledge of Windows, Linux, cloud computing, and networking concepts
  • Deep understanding of common security weaknesses and attack/defense methodologies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, proven attention to detail
  • Ability to track, lead, and set priorities for numerous parallel projects and tasks
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, data science, or related field
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this posting. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, data science, or related field
  • Experience with red/blue/purple team pen-testing approaches
  • Extensive experience with ArcGIS software
  • Experience testing AI solutions for security flaws
  • Experience creating and testing security controls for FedRAMP or ISO certifications
  • Familiarity with coordinated vulnerability disclosure (CVD) processes
  • Scripting (such as Python/Perl/Ruby, shell) or coding experience (Java/C++/.Net)

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
