Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse and evaluate GIS-related business requirements and translate them into technical requirements for internal or external development.
  • Provide advice on the feasibility, costs and benefits of proposed system enhancements, with a focus on improving efficiency and data integrity.
  • Design and develop technical solutions that meet functional and technical requirements, ensuring configuration and code versions are appropriately managed.
  • Coordinate testing of system enhancements, including developing test plans and ensuring enhancements satisfy functional and technical requirements.
  • Develop and deliver training for GIS applications to users across the business.
  • Design and develop spatial reports and import/export routines to support business and regulatory requirements, business decision-making and data-quality improvements.

About You

  • Extensive experience in a similar IT role within the construction, energy/electrical or utilities industry.
  • Extensive experience working with GIS data structures, relational databases, system interfaces and associated system design.
  • Proven ability to analyse processes, determine requirements and translate these into technical specifications.
  • Practical experience in project management or coordinating the design, testing and implementation of new systems and system enhancements.
  • Experience with the software development lifecycle and source-code version management.
  • Working knowledge of, or experience in, electricity distribution systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, stakeholder and relationship management skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage complex and varying workloads and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced Diploma in Information Technology or Advanced Diploma of Spatial Information Services; or
  • Demonstrated equivalent capability through previous employment experience and/or relevant qualifications.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
