As an Etsy employee, you will tackle unique, meaningful, and large-scale problems alongside passionate coworkers, all the while making a rewarding impact and Keeping Commerce Human.

That means hiring great people, setting them up for success from day one, and giving them real reasons to grow their careers here. We invest in development that goes beyond promotions, and we foster the trust and relationships that help people do their best work together.

What's the Role?

We’re looking for a Senior Business Operations Manager to help us run the Integrity, Regulatory, and Risk Operations organization and deliver its highest-priority cross-functional work. This role will lead the organization’s operating cadence, provide executive support to the Integrity, Risk, and Regulatory Operations leadership team, and lead projects with senior partners across Product, Engineering, Analytics, Legal, Compliance, Finance, and Customer Operations.

This is a hands-on individual contributor role with a mix of business operations, executive support, and program leadership. We need someone who can move comfortably between preparing a business review, helping a leader make a decision, and driving a sophisticated program from planning through delivery.

This is a full time role reporting to the Senior Director of Risk, Fraud, & Financial Compliance.

What does the day-to-day look like?

Develop and Lead our Operating Cadence

  • Lead annual and quarterly planning, business reviews, all-hands meetings, leadership meetings, and other recurring forums.
  • Prepare clear agendas, pre-reads, updates, and decision materials; bring together decisions and make sure follow-ups have clear owners and outcomes.
  • Maintain a practical view of priorities, risks, dependencies, and commitments for the org.
  • Improve recurring processes so leaders and teams spend less time assembling information and more time making decisions and delivering results.

Support the Leadership Team

  • Help the leadership team schedule and prepare for important meetings, decisions, and communications.
  • Synthesize input from across the organization into concise recommendations, talking points, updates, and follow-up plans.
  • Keep leadership commitments moving across multiple teams and workstreams.
  • Handle critical information with discretion and sound judgment.

Lead large cross-functional programs

  • Own large programs from problem definition through planning, execution, launch, and post-launch improvement.
  • Define the program’s goals, scope, outcomes, owners, measures of success, and decision process.
  • Work with partners to align priorities, resolve tradeoffs, handle dependencies, and keep execution moving without relying on formal authority.
  • Partner with Analytics and operational teams to establish baselines, measure results, and adjust the approach when the data points to a better path.
  • Identify risks early, recommend practical mitigation plans, and raise decisions when needed.
  • Of course, this is just a sample of the kinds of work this role will require! You should assume that your role will encompass other tasks, too, and that your job duties and responsibilities may change from time to time at Etsy's discretion, or otherwise applicable with local law.

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:

  • Significant experience in program management, business operations, strategy, chief-of-staff, consulting, or a related field.
  • Experience leading complex, cross-functional programs with senior partners and multiple dependencies.
  • Experience in a technology, marketplace, payments, risk, regulatory, compliance, Trust & Safety, or operations environment is helpful.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, able to turn complex information into clear recommendations and decisions.
  • Excellent organization and follow-through, with the ability to handle details while keeping sight of the larger goal.
  • Good judgment when handling sensitive information and navigating ambitious priorities.
  • Comfort influencing without authority and working through ambiguity or changing priorities.
  • Experience partnering with Analytics or other technical teams to measure progress and impact.

What success looks like:

  • In the first 90 days, understand our priorities, stakeholders, decision forums, and current operating gaps; run key recurring forums and have started a first major project.
  • By 3 months, our planning and business-review cadence is predictable, useful, and trusted by leaders, with clearer priorities, owners, risks, decisions, and follow-through.
  • Within year 1, you have delivered a significant outcome through a major cross-functional program and improved at least one mechanism that makes the organization more effective and scalable.

If you like making complex work clearer and helping teams deliver important results, we’d love to hear from you!

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
